  My Aunt Is Told That If She Goes To My Daughter's Wedding She'll Be Deleted

  as a regular pioneer and even if she gave a gift, she'd be removed as a pioneer!

  this woman is 80 years old and has been pioneering for over 40 years.

  my mother also is a pioneer in a different congregation and she is wondering whether this is a new rule from the society or is something that the local congregation has decided.

  A similar thing happened to me and my new bride (the un-believer & un-clean thing ) I was inactive and not attending meetings. My X wife was a goody-two-shoes JW, she had forced a unscriptual divorce upon me several years before. All my relatives and the Elders knew the circumstances...and I was never DA/DF...

  I was already getting some shunning and avoidance from more than 1/2 my family -- JW's of course, because of inactivity. However, when they met my fiance at my parents, etc. they really liked her and they knew we were getting married. Then, when all the expensive invites were sent out...I was told "no way" they would be attending.

  I thought it was because they thought I would be DF for 'adultry' for remarrying period. NOPE...it was the "uneven yoking to an un-believer" crap. (Did they not suspect I was an unbeliever, too?) They knew my X had screwed me royally and seemed to have sympathy for me in that, but they EXPECTED me to marry another good JW girl... !! aagggghhhh!

  A lot of them 35 or so, did not even let us know for sure they were not coming -- so we made sure we had enough food for them, too.

  I cannot begin to tell you my wifes chagrin at being called an 'unbeliever' or an "UN-CLEAN thing."

  i just finished commenting on minimus' thread (oh man, i hope it was his thread now...not enough coffee yet to be fully brained today...).

  anyway, it was the thread on how everyone was choosing to leave/has left from the org.

  i hate with a passion the fact that i was judged while in the wts.

  I'm not beating myself up about it; I don't really run on regrets. That's who I was, I've 'seen the error of my ways' and now want to set the record straight.

  I know how you feel, too. All of us do. Many of us are on the 'receiving end' of what we once 'dished out in brotherly love' .

  Guilt... yes/no, I dunno ?

  We were brain-washed into believing we were doing a 'good thing'... in Human History that is old news -- unfortunately.

  We are Humans.

  I've actually been making a list of people I think I unfairly judged, using the WT as my basis for what was right and wrong. I will try to find and talk to and if possible go see them. I will explain as best I can my actions and ask forgiveness from them.

  I am not beating myself up by doing this, rather, I am doing this as a warning about the WT and disassociate myself, too. Hopefully, they will tell two friends and they will tell two friends...lol sorta

  Thanks for that input and the good points about the 3rd world being the "Control Group" sadly it's true. Possibly due to economic/politcal corruption these folks, either don't know or understand what's happening with the 'testing' and they probably have no recourse if something goes "O-oo-ps".

  Notice the seemingly increased number of "Siamese Twins" or other conjoined babies...?

  This is a 'minor' 'oops!' : In the Southern US, the timber/paper industry is KING. Years ago...they developed a GM pine tree that would grow 2 - 4 times faster/taller than the natural un-improved trees. They touted the money and research spent as a great thing for mankind (Hey...now we can make MORE throw away products ) What happened ? Years later as the trees matured, they were disappointed to find the trees were 2 - 4 times WEAKER in strength and in density. This meant Less Paper and Less Constuction Wood.

  And this was a LITTLE thing...

  Heathen, as Abbaddon pointed out about 'Spiking trees', they do damage equipment. They are also like a 'Time bomb', if a man using a chain saw is cutting the tree -- even years later...he could be killed or severely injured by the kick-back or the chain coming off.

  There is no room for this kind of "Eco-Terror" when this happens...a lot of people turn against ecology issues altogether.

  Now That's HOSPITALITY! - story from a road trip

  this is just one of many stories of a particular adventure i had, and one that i have thought of many times over the years.

  i?ve been on a lot of road trips, mostly in the us.

  i have always come across friendly folk, and this is a particularly heart-warming experience that i wanted to share with y?all tonight.

  Yep, there are a lot of good people out there that aren't JW's ! (Big surprise for most newly-out X-jw's)

  I look forward to Part 2. I'll try to think of some, too.

  One that comes to my mind is: 12 or so years ago, we were going thru New Mexico on the way to Colorado (My adopted state). We stopped in a little wind-swept village in the tree-less, high-plains desert in the NW corner of N.M. to get gas. Afterwards, I washed my hands in the Men's room and promptly left my Wedding Ring on the sink !

  150 miles later...I *gasped* "WHERE"S MY RING?" The 2 hours it took to drive back was some of the longest in my life. My now X wife...a JW was reminding me the whole time how stupid and forgetful I was. And what a 'dumb' mistake...(oh, really...never figured that one) lol

  Anyway...I drove up...ran inside...out-of-breath, asking "Has anyone found a gold diamond men's..." Old man behind counter -- "Hey there young fellar...bet you're lookin' fer this...aren't ya'? Me: "B-b-ut, HOW?" Him: Somebody turned it in right after you left...ah' figgered it was yors...and you'd be back!"

  He would not accept any reward -- as "you'd a dun it fer me !"

  My wife back then said, Hmmmm, I wonder if he's a Witness? Didja ask...?

  N-o-o-o, I did n-o-t ...!

  Whew...this is ....bad. I've never seen so much crass generalisations in a while...

  I don't like the title either...it's very mis-leading. Greenpeace believes in what they do, they think they are helping mankind. They do not 'love' to kill anyone, much less millions ! Call them IYO, misguided. More of them get killed, injured or arrested themselves doing some of their 'stunts,' than injuring someone else.

  I was once a member of Greenpeace, EarthFirst!, Sierra Club and several others. I was never the 'scum-bag' or murderer that members have been portrayed as... I was and am very concerned about environmental issues.

  I still agree with SOME things ALL of them stand for...I disagreed so much with SOME of their tactics and actions --- I quit all of them !

  For instance, I agree completely when they 'intercept' Japanese & other countries Whaling Vessels to prevent the taking of whales. I agree with SOME of the protests about clear-cutting and old-growth forests and SOME tree-siting. These actions bring public attention to a problem -- SO IT CAN HAVE THE PROPER PUBLIC AIRING !

  I disagree TOTALLY, with any type of violence, i.e, 'environmental terrorism', like "Spiking Trees", this stuff is plain stupid, unlawful, dangerous and counter-productive in getting any public support.

  We were all past members of a totalitarian religious regime. Would you also want a general blanket indictment put on all Witnesses as "Loving" to "Kill" millions of people because of the "Blood" issue ? Or Child Abuse...Family Breakdowns because of shunning...??

  No...I don't think you want to be described that way...you thought you were a good person -- having good loving reasons for doing what they did... they are simply wrong.

  They were ignorant, I was ignorant.

  I've personally had enough of the JW style of covering everyone who doesn't agree with me, with a big blanket of guilt -- you're stupid, you're an idiot, etc. etc. Haven't you...? I am wrong all the time...but I'm trying to learn to be more fair about people's opinions.

  As far as Genetically Modified foods...? I personally distrust them... Not enough time has passed to watch for problems like mental or physical deformaties...

  Remember when Silicone Breast implants were 'perfectly safe' and non-reactive in the body ? I remember in so. Louisiana as a kid...running & playing * breathing in all the "absolutely harmless" DDT the Govt. sprayed every night for mosquitoes. IT ONLY KILLS BUGS ! Yeah...right. I could go on and on...

  GE/GM foods MAY be harmless --- I do not want me or my family to be the TEST SUBJECTS like in DDT !

  "Look before you leap", is a good motto !

  If you are interested in seeing what kind of environmental damages can result by "OOPS ! We're Sorry mistakes...read a book called "Silent Spring," by Rachel Carson. It is a fully supported scientific book of non-fiction....that will scare the s__t out of ya'.

  This is plain STUPID...most of my relatives came from Germany, before the Nazi's, but the branch left behind probably fought for Hitler...so what ?

  The other side of my family included a Surgeon in the Confederate Army at the rank of Colonel, what does that mean -- his descendants are racist...?
