A "Bloody" Question -- Hospital bound...!

I do not have the info but a question for you. Why would you trust a largely ex-jw site for such an important query?

I trust the people here, I do not trust the WTS anymore and will never walk thru another KH door. The question may sound a little odd, I may not have worded it just right. Read some of my other posts and you can see my situation. I am already being shunned by some family for getting married and expect to be DF at some point. I am at home here.

I am needing to know what the current rules are about blood substitutes, etc. just in case I do get into a discussion with some JW family, I will be armed with what they know. I have been inactive 7 years. The hospital liason committee, I have locked horns with them before. I am afraid of some of my siblings showing up with an elder and them trying to confuse my new non-JW wife about my beliefs.She may be called upon to make a decision and since they were very devious in another relatives situation (they withheld some of the options that were available to all JW's & pushed their own conscience upon the non-JW relative who was making the the decision for the un-conscious JW !) I don't trust them !

I very much believed this doctrine at one time, now I have doubts and I need to know the scientific arguement against it with references. I need to know about 'Hemopure' supposedly JW approved substitute, too. My main objection is getting diseased blood from someone by accident.

Wouldn't you feel better going to the official jw site?

NO, NO, NO-O-ooooooooo. I am trying to stay under-the-radar as it is.

Avashai, thanks, too. It always made sense to me you can never get out ALL the blood. I was raised on a farm, no matter how you tried to bleed an animal properly -- you could not! It says NO blood, to me that means if there is any chance of any cells being eaten -- DON"T. Good point on becoming a vegetarian !

I do not consider myself a JW anymore, I am trying to keep the peace and still do what I believe. There are still a few things I've been taught I still do believe, but, not very much. This is one of those nagging doubts I need to clear up.

I will be having major back surgery within a month. I've read some of the posts about different 'new' blood substitutes/alternatives. Will someone please post the newest 'guidelines' from the WT ?

Also, has there been a change on giving & storing your own blood to be used if needed ?

I know, I know...most of you may be way past this issue now...I am still teetering. This is a nagging belief that is 'hanging-on'. It has been intriging to read how some say that 'Scientific Evidence' shows that when blood is transfused -- it cannot be used as food by the body...rather only as a carrier.

This issue is still new to me (as far as changing my mind) so, does anyone have any references or links on this new 'Evidence' that might help me make up my mind ?

One reason is, if my new non-JW wife is confronted by any JW relatives trying to 'help' her make decisions, I want to have things clearly in my mind & hers beforehand. My poor wife is befuddled enough by this religion as it is.

Any help will be appreciated... Lee

And, er, well did any of you guys partake after your wife gave birth ?? Mmmmmmmm....Got Milk...?

We need a little information for OUR files !

I was baptized in '73. I also Reg. pioneered for 3 years. Where are my records now? Do they follow you? Does the old KH send everything to your new KH - is nothing, no references or copies left at the old KH's?

What if Jah (accidently of course !) struck the KH with lightning, comet or A-bomb?

Any records floating elsewhere, New York, Cyberspace, under the Elders bed?

What if they show up (for the 1st time...) after 4 years of no meetings and want to DA/DF me? Can I make them PROVE I was baptised ?

I think I would say...thanks. I don't know what perfection is, but, even with all my troubles, I would say I came out ahead, I'd do it again. And thanks for SEX. If there is a 'paradise' make it on earth. And REALLY, thanks you for SEX ! And in the 'Paradise' if I'm Perfect is SEX gonna be even better ?? Cause if it is, I will say "Thank God," again !

AT THE MEMORIAL ! Instead of sitting at the BACK of the KH, mix all thru the crowd. Then, as the wine is passed to you, CHUG-A-LUG it all ! Each person does the same ! There is only ONE bottle of wine ! EAT all the bread !!! Can you imagine the looks of horror ? What if the 'real' partakers have nothing left ? Whoo-hoo... the end will come ( and there was no prophesy )

Me...? Not really a trouble maker back then, I just asked the 'wrong' questions and was never 'strong' enough spiritually even when FT pioneer for 3 years, never enough. Now however, I guess I'm not shy anymore and am a troublemaker for part of my family -- guess which side ?? lol Troublemaker...well I did choose my hero, "Bugs Bunny" as my icon. Love that guy !

Hi and Welcome,

You do have a problem on your hands. A whole lot depends on how HER support group is, if they are fanatical JW's like my X-wifes' then it can get very bad.

I hate to be negative -- after 2 decades of marriage, with me being a 'weak' or 'spiritually sick' brother, my wife left then unscripturally divorced me, like Gary Buss above my X- has taught my children to shun me. I never tried to stop her from going to meetings, but, sometimes I would ask her to stay home. Sometimes, I would question her about certain teachings and criticize some elders for how they handled things . She would get very upset...just like your wife and said either "wait on Jah" or "how dare you question God' arrangement". Something was wrong...for me, I just did not recognise that my 'weakness or sickness, spiritually' was really my conscience telling me something was rotten i n 'God's organization'. It was just the 'seeds' of doubt sprouting in fertile ground.

The other thing that parallels yours -- the kind description of your wife, her intelligence and how much you both love each other. These are exactly the words I used about her to everyone, even a few years after she left... I do hope she will really listen to you and maybe with time she will come over to your thinking. However, you must know...marriages have been and are being destroyed over this very issue. This issue CAN destroy Love itself.

Be very careful...good luck...learn ultimate patience, you'll need it.

i've been lurking on this board for a couple of months now, taking it all in.

i've really appreciated and enjoyed reading your postings and it's all been very helpful.

i have now a question i'd like to ask.

Welcome again, I too just watched and read for a while, still very scared just being here. After 6 years 'inactive' and 3 years not going to meetings -- I lurked on & off, then on for about a month, then started posting the first of January. I've talked (a little at first ) to my non-witness wife about stuff I've read, because of my situation with the JW's right now, then to another non JW friend, a little. I was still scared, to SPEAK OUT LOUD about such things, my true feelings.

My point is, since being on this site, I've made a lot of progress...from not saying anything 'critical' of the WTS...to now having over 70 posts in a month! I'm not quite the 'sage' yet, but am learning. Just two days ago...I launched into a 2 hour stream of complaints about what the WTS does to people and their families, and the reciting of many experiences I've read about, etc. I went on and on...to my surprised friend. I have NEVER had such a clear view of what is going on in my life, because of the WTS! When I finished (out of breath) my friend said, "Well, OK", "you have some strong feelings there." I fely like a great weight was lifted off of me...I can breathe again.

That is when I knew...I would never be back to a Kingdom Hall.

Welcome, I hope things go well for you. I went thru individual counseling, because of Depression. However, my Doctor did help me with some of the unreasoning 'guilt' I had as a Witness, she had other Witness patients. Maybe that will work for you, too.
