I left two years ago and narry hardly a word since I left. Like Sassy said it shows the lack of love that one would expect to find and does make it easier to leave and stay out when you think about that.

A whole month of no meetings or field service!
by eyeslice ini have really struggled over the past nearly three years with my loyaties and how i view the religion i was brought up in.
however, 2004 has seen a turn around and i have not been to a meeting nor have i been out in field service for a whole month.
it is still strange and difficult though.

was there any particular event, teaching, experience where it all came together for you when you really questioned the "truth", or believed it wasn't it couldn't be god's organization?.
when did you realize and say to yourself, this just doesn't add up?

by Waymores Ghost inthis is why i stopped first going out in service, and gradually stopped going to the meetings.. when i was young, my grandfather was like next thing to holy in my opinion, and really enjoyed the occasional time when my parents would send me to vist him.
but even then, it still never occured to me that the fact doctrine gets changed seriously challenges the idea of the society being god's "channel" or as being spirit "directed" or whatever they call it now.

What I have learned about Rolf Furuli
by Faraon inon a recent thread about the year of the destruction of jerusalem, i learned from "scholar" about rolf furuli.. i looked up his name in google, and came with a few interesting links.
all i can say is that i am glad there aren't too many witnesses going to universities, especially those claiming to be researchers.
first they must take their blinds off.. a review of rolf furuli's book "the role of theology and bias in bible translation".

Why are you so keen to laud Furuli's ``academic accomplishments" in defense of his apologia when the organization you and he so loyally champion considers them irrelevant, even deleterious?
That is a very good point. I bet 90 percent of the rank and file JWs have never heard of Greg Stafford or Rolf Furuli. The GB would have us believe they need no one to defend their doctrine as they believe their doctrine comes from none other than holy spirit direction. What do they need inperfect men for. toreador

Scholar, well, I am glad you havent turned tail and run. How you can accept all the mistakes, missquotes, false prophecy etc, that the WTS does and still remain loyal is a mystery to me. I hope to one day figure it all out.

He learned so much from here you would think he "knows it all" . I have emailed him a few times on a couple of things. He is a smart cookie but intellectually dishonest with himself IMO.

Overseer Visits

Everyone running around slipping money in his pockets and trying to give extra special talks so they can get promoted up the ladder. Kind of funny when you think about the fact we preach there are no divisions among Jehovahs clean people.
