  End Times Prophets are BOGUS! - Matt.24, Mark 13, Luke.21

  i've had a thing against hearing about "end times prophecies" for some time now, no doubt as a reaction against what i had been raised with by the wts.. recently, however, i had cause to re-read luke 21 in "the message".. it suddenly struck me how we would always use matthew 24 to support 1914, but only dipped into mark 13 and luke 21 occasionally.

  you may remember the "tote" watchtower in 1995 (?

  ) which was used to dismantle the "generation" teaching we'd all previously believed, but there was no parallel study from luke.

  It sure is nice God thought so much of us he made real sure he had everything put down on paper real exactlike so that there could be no confusion; you know especially since it means our lives that we get the right dates and all. How else could we pick the right religion if he didnt.

  Letter From Society Say Going To a JW/Non-JW Wedding Has Consequences!

  my mother called me in a tizzy saying that her friend heard that letters were read and a talk was given in 2 different congregations saying that the society's new policy is that if a elder, m.s.

  or pioneer attends an "unequaled" wedding----they will be removed from their exemplary positions because they are "disloyal to jehovah god"........what do you think about this one?

  I know a man who is a baptized but a dfed fellow who went to his grandmothers funeral and then went to the reception afterwards and was asked to leave because as the elders told him some in attendance felt uncomfortable by his presence. This made him feel just sick.

  i have been coming here for some time (although not in recent months, my sincere apologies) to share with you various truths that i have received from the truth.

Look where that got people. It is who you are, not what you believe. Once you break out of that "believing" mold, a whole new set of possibibilites are open to you.

  Precisely. What good does it do to have to fight with your mind/logic to try to believe something that would seem to a reasonable and logical person to be absurd. What kind of God in his right mind would expect his followers to have to do that in order to be saved, if there even is such a thing as being saved, and to what are you being saved to or for.
  
  :Whether Shelby believes what I just wrote or not, doesn't matter. That is what I believe. However, she has a more cosmic view about things than most religious fanatics. She doesn't hold that the entire Bible is inspired by God, for example. She admits to some of it being bullshit. So do I.

  I never would have guessed that Shelby believes some parts of the bible to be bullshit. She comes across as if she would fight tooth and nail for every word in it. YOu know her better than I so I tend to believe you. My question for you and her would be, how does she decide which is poppycock and which to believe and teach. If the bible claims to be inspired which I believe it does, and much of it is bull**** then how can we be expected to put faith in what or whom it talks about we have to put faith in to be saved.

  If one starts picking and choosing what parts to believe in, that is precisely why, as you so succintly pointed out, we see all these baloney religions and beliefs. It makes no sense to me. This is why this ransom thing with all this needless killing of all these animals and then the ridiculous barbaric way in which Jesus died is senseless. If Jesus had to die for us then for Christs sake have him offered in the most humane way possible by those who loved him the most. If Jesus followers couldnt fathom doing this deed, God certainly did fathom it and worse and required it to be done. By his allowing it to be done he in effect condoned it in the same way a person seeing an innocent child being molested stands by and does nothing.

  In addition the animals did nothing to deserve being sacrificed and to say they most often go willingly to the slaughter does not make a lick of sense. If there is a God he certainly likes lots of needless killing and the spilling of innocent blood.

  I liked your thoughts on this DC/Farkel.

  As of 4 years ago we were instructed by the elders in the congregation to attend the wedding of our relatives, one was a jdub and the other not, would be sending the wrong message and were STRONGLY encouraged to NOT attend and present a united front by not attending. If I could do it all over again I wish we wouldnt have listened.
