BOE letter defining apostacy

i'm looking for the boe letter that defines apostacy as 'standing away' and means individuals can be dfed even if they're not spreading their opinion.

i'm sure i saw it recently on here in pdf format, but i can't find it.

Thank you for your reply. I just got done reading the information from your links posted above. It is quite an interesting subject. The comment you made in one of your replies about the DO hit home. I hope you dont mind that I quote you here.

Recently I spoke with a district overseer on the subject of blood. I asked him how he explained to JWs that the WTS has JWs teaching everyone that they abstain from blood when in fact the WTS knows perfectly well that JWs use from blood all the time. He leaned forward ? with brandy in hand ? and said, ?I don?t even go there!? He then said he once asked the same question in a training seminar at Patterson. He said the response he got was that the school was not to educate on doctrine. Afterward he was asked what exactly he was trying to do asking a question like that.

It is amazing to me how many elders and rank and file as far as that goes, will impune wrong motives to someone who simply wants the truth and will accept nothing less. The WTS wanting to cover up this issue whilst at the same time wanting JWs to die abstaining from certain components of blood is inconcievable for an organization that calls themselves the truth (tm). How can one be a lover of truth and yet want to hide from it or show disdain for those who seek it.

The use of snares has been quite common throughout history and I am sure it was a common means of killing animals in bible times. Most of the time the animal would have died because of being strangled as the trap was set so as to catch the animal around the neck and tighten.

There is of course a possibility that an occasional animal could have died from strangulation because of being caught in vegetation/ vines and hence strangled. I don't suppose the bible could cover completely every possible way an animal could have died of itself. One would have to try to determine the overall gist of the command to abstain from things strangled and go from there. It would be a very slim chance of anyone finding an animal that had strangled itself and in good enough condition for anyone to eat it. Any animal thats been dead for more than half a day, I dont think I could bring myself to eat it.

One other point is that in effect the animal would have died of itself if it had indeed caught itself in some way or another without the aid of some human made trap/snare. I am sure Marvin has a much better explanation.

Edited to add. I see he already did before I got my reply added.

What did Noah eat after the flood?

as the world was presumbly ruined after the flood,nothing was grown etc etc,what did noah eat.. if he have started eating the animals,they would have been none around,so what did noah and co eat to avoid hunger?

shocker, i know.. but what i am going to toss out to you is a possible scenario, a concept i haven't read about before.

one of frannie's comments got me thinking about it.. my anger and irritation is a constant.

Start of the '7 times' period in Daniel

hi - would be grateful for any info on what russell and the early bible students believed as to when the '7 times', 2520 years, prophesy in daniel 4 started.

specifically, did they hold that the supposed 2520 year period started with jerusalem's destruction in 586/607bce or babylon's destruction in 539bce, and why?

All I know is the early bible students/Russel pointed to 1799 and then to 1874 from some calculations they used using the bible and pyramids.

Would the WT society disfellowship Jesus?

about three weeks before i handed in my letter of disassociation (two months ago) two elders from my congregation came to my door,for the first time since my son's death (which happened 8 months earlier).i knew it wasn't a special love for me or my family that suddenly motivated them to come.for few weeks prior to that visit i was sharing the new truth about the 'truth' that i was discovering with any listening ear.

now it was obvious to me that these two elders had been sent by the body of elders to hear it themselves so it can be used against me...and hear they did.

the 'poor' elders had to stand there (they refused to come in) and listen to it all.
