Does anyone know the answer to Gill’s question about this possibly being the same meeting that some have said will happen on March 20t? March 7 th is on a Monday (extra meeting) while March 20 th is on a Sunday.

my mother told me today that its going to be held a special meeting in all congregations worldwide at march 7.. .
some new information is going to be released, and its very very secret indeed.
we are not supposed to tell anyone what we heard at this meeting to the ones who have the meeting later the same week.

I believe the Bible account of a global flood. Will the ark ever be found? There have been a number of ancient vessels found in the Iraq area that have given rise to the question “could one of them be the ark?” From what I have read the general consensus is no. Several years ago the National Geographic magazine had an article regarding a piece of tar-covered timber that someone had discovered on Mount Ararat in an area where ice had melted. Could this have been a piece of the ark? Maybe, maybe not, my question is how would you know it was the ark if the ark was actually found? An abundance of frozen preserved animal dung might suggest the vessel was the Biblical ark. Finding the Captain’s (Noah) Log would nail it down tight.

i stumbled across this forum today as i was looking for information online as it relates to johnny carson and the whole john denver thing that was spread around years ago.
it's no surprise that i cant find a single thing on it on the web as i always thought it was an urban legend.
just angers me that things like that spread around and so many people just accept it as truth because a brother or sister told it to them.
Hello UncleI! I for one think you have your head on straight, very straight. I believe the core doctrines of the WTS are solid Scripturally. Core doctrines being defined as teachings regarding the soul, trinity, hell, God’s purpose for man never dying and the earth being a paradise and so forth.
Is the WTS God’s organization or has it ever been God’s organization? I don’t believe so although I used to. When we see the backstabbing and the pain inflicted by JWs who are the supposedly mature ones and when we see this behavior condoned from the top down we intuitively know something is not right. When we learn the real history if the WTS we see that things were never right.
There are many books available that help one to break free of WTS fear such as Crisis of Conscience by Ray Franz. My personal favorite book (do a “Google” search on the title if you think you might like to read it) is Captives of a Concept by Don Cameron. This book addresses WTS organizational history from the perspective of the mind control techniques they have learned to EXPERTLY employ. It also helped me to understand how it is that decent, intelligent people can be trapped and controlled mentally.

yep, i was at this website last night composing a reply to add to the comments on a question posed by a poster.
my wife tiptoed into the room and before i could hide what i was doing saw that i was on this website.
initially she lectured me on the danger of associating with apostates.
Yep, I was at this Website last night composing a reply to add to the comments on a question posed by a poster. My wife tiptoed into the room and before I could hide what I was doing saw that I was on this website. Initially she lectured me on the danger of associating with apostates. My dishonest response that I was defending the WTS was immediately in her opinion suspect. Her next concern was that I was having a “personal relationship’ with the poster to whom I was replying. I assured her that JWs, ex-JWS and non-JWs all came to this website to share thoughts. I further assured her that most of us and especially the active JWs (due to the Dfing aspect) wanted to remain anonymous. We then had our usual heated discussion about which one of us was being mislead. This morning she apologized to me and said that if I was really trying to help people she had no problem with what I was doing (whew!).
No Point to any of this other than wanting to share the experience.

i am not posting this to justify my actions, i am doing so for the benifit of any witnesses who are unsure about there feelings toward the "truth".
i was a reguler pioneer for about 8 yrs, back when it was 100 hours a month, befor thet i did a couple of yrs as a vacation pioneer, they later changed the name to auxilery pioneer, and during the following 20 yrs i had a few intermitant spells as an auxilery when i had time to.
during my pioneer years i have given talks at circuit assemblies and had assignments at district assemblies .
I appreciated your sharing you experiences with the rest of us. It seems that the reason many of us become disenchanted with the WTS is not the doctrine but the hypocrisy and blatant abuse of power we saw at every level.

does anyone remember one of his shows from the late 1970's when john denver was on the show?
i never saw the show but heard about it in the jw circle (urban legend??).
it was known that john denver hated jw's and during their bantering, carson asked denver about his asking jw's to leave during his concerts.
I believe the Johnny Carson/John Denver Story and the story about John Denver asking JWs to leave his concerts. Two of the posters have given eyewitness testimony to these stories. I have heard both stories before and supposedly an acquaintance of mine who is now a P.O. has a tape of the Johnny Carson show episode where Carson asked Denver to leave.
Something I can’t confirm but have heard is that John Denver’s first wife, (I think it was Annie?) had become a JW and her conversion to the faith caused so much strife in the marriage that it led to their divorce. True? I don’t know. FM
as many of you posters know by now that my mom has been a devout jw for 40 years and just cannot accept the fact that i am no longer a jw and feel that i am being deceived by apostates and will be destroyed at armaggeddon.
well the other day we had another knock down debate about "false prophecies" and the wts.
my mom insist that the wts are not false prophets but merely had many "wrong expectations" the same as other bible writers and disciples of christ.
Your mother is right; there is a difference between false prophecies and wrong expectations. However, this argument is another example of inserting a red herring. False Prophecies are ?false predictions? and the WTS is definitely guilty of this.

.
there are references in the bible to jesus fasting and prayfully meditating.. so my question then is why don't jehovahs witnesses as an organization ask their members to fast?.
why don't you ever hear about fasting at the kh?.
Fasting is not a scriptural reqirement for Christians and the WTS has the correct viewpoint IMHO. I have know individual JWs who choose to fast for personal reasons.
