Emergency!!! - Crabby Pants Bought a GUN!!! I Need Advice ASAP, Please...
by Frannie Banannie inmost of yall don't know that i live with my ex-hubby (just watchin' his back)...he's retired from the navy, a stroke victim with an anxiety disorder among other psychological problems stemming from his iq of 85, i'm sure.....his stroke impaired his left side and he was left-handed, so the use of his right hand is unstable....i live with him to see that the water gets turned off when he leaves faucets running and goes to the store, to see that he eats regularly, to see that doors are closed and locked when he goes to bed or leaves the house, cause he forgets and leaves 'em open and/or unlocked alla time....and to loan him money cause even tho he makes more than i do, he can't handle his finances successfully from month to month...... this morning, he ranted and raved and called the police dept.
to report that two garbage trucks were cruising down our street side-by-side blocking traffic while they were picking up garbage (they do this every week)....he wasn't going anywhere, just got irritated that they were blocking the street as they went about their business.....a short while later, he went somewhere and came back with a loaded gun in a shoulder holster....my mouth fell open and i asked very mildly..."what are you doing with that gun?
"......he said that he bought it and starts classes tomorrow to be certified to carry a concealed weapon......he says things are getting too nasty around town...... friends.....we're talkin' about "forrest gump with a bad attitude" here.....question is: how do i handle this without pissin' him off....if i call his sis or son and give them a "heads up" he'll know i told 'em.....i could call the class instructor where he's going to be certified, but there's no guarantee they'll listen when i tell 'em the problem and no guarantee they'd take the gun away from him anyway......my only other choice is to let him just go ahead and "do his thing" and "hang" himself for mopry with intent to creep.....or whatever they charge people with who have no business with a gun in the first place.. help, please....i need advice pretty soon here..... frannie b

Worst song you've ever heard.
by FlyingHighNow inwhat is the worst song you've ever heard?
you know, the song that grated on your nerves and made you want to scream if you ever heard it again?
if it's a kingdom song please tell and please tell us what popular song you detested.

Was there a country song years ago called "Behind Closed Doors"? I always hated that song..
I also found (while cute the FIRST time you heard it) that "If You Like Pinia Coladas" (or something like that) too much to bear to listen to over and over... like the radio stations did for a while..

Did I get the wrong Christmas Ornaments?
by Elsewhere ini have a small tree so i got a package of small ornaments that are about 2 inches in diameter.
when i bought them i did not notice that the tops do not have hooks like i expected, instead they have very small loops.
these loops are too small to slide on to the branches of the tree, so am i supposed to use little twist-ties or something?

10 years ago I had lots of lovely ornaments like soapbells, silver clocks and so on.
ahhhh Country_Woman! How sad.
a perfect balanced tree is one that gets you and your friends/loved ones together for a tree trimming party that's what!
that sounds fun!!! A tree trimming party!
I am most looking forward to hanging a misteltoe!!

Is anything sacred to you anymore?
by Xena in.
i was looking up sacrilege tonight because of picture that i saw posted and it got me to wondering what i actually considered sacred anymore..if anything...something i am still trying to work out...so i wondered if anyone else had thought about it.
what if anything do you consider sacred?
-
Sassy
A lot of things I thought were sacred are questionable now.. including what I thought was life long friendships..
My close friends who are still 'with me' as well as new ones mean a lot and I value highly.
My children and family, boyfriend, his children and family.
The rest I have to figure out still.

August should be a good month for me. I HOPE.. my only problem is if I don't get a different job, a JW I work with has seniority over me and if her DA is when I want off, I am SOL.

Do you think ignorance is bliss?
by obiwan inhave you ever had a point in your life, where you get too much information.
have you ever felt that you were better off not knowing certain things?
sometimes i think if a person gets too much information, it can cloud their judgement on things.
-

Ignorance is bliss only while you are in it... but once you have more information.. full facts.. then everything changes..
Its like being a JW. If you just believe and do as you are told, your ignorance actually can give you a sense of happiness, but once your eyes have been opened, everything changes.

Organized Dub Rave Parties...Easy sex optional!
by yxl1 inmy wife had a long drive home from north yorkshire with her younger brother (who is a dub) last night.
she was asking him questions about his social life and was very surprised at his response.
apparently, each week in london some brothers organize raves in various hired nightclubs.

Actually part of the reasoning for not too many together at once, is that the host could then become unable to be responsible for that many people. I also remember talks about making sure the host knew who everyone was that was attending. The larger the gathering the less control there was.
When I got into 'trouble/extra cirricular activities' with a brother on a weekend of a big gathering, they tried to use that as an excuse for why one should not attend these gatherings. I told the elders that our 'hooking up' the night before everything had nothing to do with that party. It was just this brother and me.. no one else. But they were of the mind set that the party brought this brother to town! (sigh!) whew!
