Sorry your team didn't win. I was none too happy with the Vikings today too. I almost went to the game and am glad I didn't. Who knows why they lose sometimes. Drives me crazy.

Do u know any JW"s that have suicided?
by Rick Aust insorry if this is a sad question, but i know of 3 jw's that have suicided.
i haven't known any personally, but i was wondered if you know any or know of any jw's that have suiced?
and do you know the reason why?

I tried to kill myself a couple of years ago. I had some personal stuff going on in my life that was traumatic and then a do gooder 'friend' decided to contact my elders and accuse me of having oral sex with a brother (whom at that time I had NOT).. but the pressure was too much and so I took a bottle of pills and whiskey. Just didn't die.. and then still had to deal with the elders.

Older ones here, what do you remember being told about 1975 ???

i was just a little kid when the 1975 thing came about, didn't pay much attention to it, after it was over, my parents told me it was just some people being over anxious, and being about 8 at the time i believed it, now when you research you find some amazing articles.
what do you remember being told about 1975 as the year got closer ?

I was babtized in 74 and graduated in 77 so I remember that time period well. I never expected to graduate high school. I remember when I did graduate in 77, one of my favorate teachers signed in my yearbook something about me still being here after 75. She had tried to encourage me to take some business classes but of course those things weren't important just moments before the end in 75 and I had explained to her why and about Armegeddon coming in 75.

Having just come out most of the people in my life had been JWs. And yes.. most of them are screwed up........royally. My boyfriend keeps asking me as I talk about some of my (now only past) friends, do you have any NORMAL people in your life??

After 22 years I've found my brother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by tyydyy inmy brother went to bethel as a teenager and was disfellowshipped and sent home.
he tried to toe the line and after 6 months the local congregation recommended reinstatement.
bethel didn't like that idea.

sounds like a pretty positive life. One of the best things is to sit back and realize it. I always thought if one left the JW life they would end up unhappy. That Jehovah would fail to bless/protect you and everything would go wrong in life. When I made the decision not to go back, I really thought my life is probably just going to go to hell (but figured oh well).. but instead I have so many things to be grateful for. I smile more now than I ever did as a JW. Life is so good and I am so happy. I read your comments in the opening paragraph and couldn't help but relate..
all except for the cigar that is.. I let my bf smoke those..
