New Light

years ago just before my exit from "the truth" i had a chat with my father inlaw about changing and conflicting doctrines in the wt.. i happened to use the word wrong ....wow what a reaction i got.

i was reamed out on the spot.they are not wrong...they are never wrong...... it is "new light" .

in the next hour i could not get him to say or even think the"w" word.. it was very frustrating.

I think they would say they were right,then they were more right and in the future they will be really..really right.They sure don't like to say the word wrong.

She, in the most patronizing manor, put me in my place explaining how that was old light, and didn't matter anymore.

Stevenyc...It always amazed me how they could brush off this firmly imbedded teaching as nothing more than old light.

There was NOTHING RIGHT about this belief. It was just a way of keeping production up for the WT corporation.

I happened to use the word WRONG ....WOW what a reaction I got. I was reamed out on the spot.They are not wrong...They are NEVER wrong...... It is "new light"

In the next hour I could not get him to say or even think the"W" word. He was a good elder and he was in the truth™

It was very frustrating. Anybody else have a "new light" experience??

here's s more of their mind numbing garbage on "charities"......while they don't directly come out and say "don't bother giving", it's clear to any witness who understands the lingo, that giving to "wordly" charities, or even doing charitable works, is not high on the list of any witness.......can you feel the loooove???.

Jehovah’s Witnesses today are also quick to help when disaster strikes. During the summer of 2001, for instance, torrential storms caused major flooding in Houston, Texas, U.S.A. In all, 723 homes of Witnesses were damaged to some extent, many of them quite badly. A disaster relief committee made up of qualified Christian elders was immediately formed to assess individual needs and to allocate relief funds to help the local Witnesses to cope with the situation and repair their homes. Willing volunteers from neighboring congregations performed all the work. One Witness was so appreciative of the help that when she received payment from her insurance company to cover the repairs to her house, she immediately donated the money to the relief fund so that it could help others in need.......... When it comes to organized charity, though, we need to be cautious as we evaluate the many appeals we receive. Some charities have high administrative or fund-raising costs, leaving only a small portion of the collected money for the intended purpose. This quote is priceless. When disaster strikes we are quick to help ~~our own~~ BUT...It sure would be nice if you paid us back from the insurance money you get.
These guys are so damm cheap they don't even provide "charity" to their own members let alone ousiders without expecting to get it back.
I don't think I will ever be able to convince my wife of this. Her blinders are on all the way.

i was chatting with my wife last night and the subject of disaster relief came up.

she made the claim that the dubs do a lot to help others even non witnesses in the time of need.

my position was that they only helped dubs and maybe book studies but could care less about those not in the"truth" there was even something about rwanda lately that made the claim that they helped over 7 thousand persons some non witnesses.. i would like to refute her claims but a google seach of the site showed very little.any help or quotes from their mags would be appreciated.

Poztate, I asked a few times if anyone knew what the WTBTS spent, not local JWs, but the WTBTS spend on disaster relief which they claim to do in their NOV 1st Watchtower and as yet NO ONE has an answer.

Gill...I think you and I both know that answer will never come.They are long on talk but short on results.

I liked this quote.It gives you the impression that is was"worldly people" they helped but the truth was the extra numbers were made up from book studies,back calls and the unbaptized ones.You really have to read between the lines to figure things out.They are a sneaky bunch.

Cost of my surgery

a couple of weeks ago i had a sebaceous cyst removed from my back; it was infected and almost the size of a baseball and went down to muscle.

it got infected.

it wasnt that big for a long time and i had to have it removed.

Lets face it medical costs are way out of line. I had to go to emergency at the hospital for a injury to my right knee. Two Doctors were involved in my treatment. I was sent for X rays and a consult with physiotherapy.The nurses who treated me were very nice and understanding...BUT...They sent me a bill for............$ 20.00 (Canadian) Boy was I PO'ed.Lucky my employer picked up the tab or I would have been stuck for the tab.

Losch said 10 yrs ago 227 of the board members of the WTB&T Society of Pennsylvania were annointed now there are only 20something. Not sure how that means we are close to the end anyway.

Wow...only twenty left at the top.Maybe they should start to recruit from the eight thousand or so "annointed" left on earth.If you reject the women,the flakes and the mentally challenged you might come up with a hundred or so fill ins that they could certainly train to take over the reigns of power.

OH...Sorry I forgot they don't really give a sh*t about using the annointed now to control the Borg.They don't even keep track of them.

The whole idea of "annointed remnant" in charge of the flock is a crock of sh*t. (one of many)
