I like that quote from their bible a lot. How many times have we been urged not to do anything that would stumble our brothers or their conscience. In the same chapter it talked about not asking where the meat for a meal came from. It might have been part of a sacrifice or even not properly bleed but it was not up to you to put rules in place the way the WT has in regards to this matter. I am sure they didn't inquire if the dog or cat food they fed to their pets was without blood as the WT has done.They talk about conscience and free will but in the end the only conscience you are commanded to follow is theirs.

I'm going to Bethel... Wanna Come?

so my mother suprised me about a week ago by telling me we are going on a bus trip to bethel from april 13-17. for those of you who aren't used to this concept, american dubs seem to think that packing themselves on the bus with 60 other witnesses and driving for 4 days is somehow going to strengthen themselves spiritually.

well, i doubt that will work for me.

i was just wondering, is there anything i should look for/ be on the alert for?

Watch for some gung-ho elder to arrange to have all the studies conducted on the bus. He gets to count the time and you are a captive audience. Have funon your Bethel trip. I can't think of anywere I would rather be...

Mostly, I have folks give it to me when I am sick because they know it helps .... it's very hard to get medical mj here.

You better take a trip out to the west coast. It seems really easy to get a doctor here to sign you up. A friend showed me his card that they issue you for possession,use and also I believe you can even grow small amounts. He has chronic back pain as his reason...

JW Reaction to Pope's death

i'm not sure how to ask this not being, never have been, a jw.

with millions, maybe billions, of people around the globe paying their respects to this great man, what is, or what would be, reaction from jw's (a gb member, a co, do, an elder, anyone?

) about the death of the pope and all the network(s) coverage surrounding his passing?

If you were God ,The Creator of all things, how would you handle rebellion?

so many times we second guess god or our conception of him and we discuss why this or that does not make sense or could not be, or is not fair.. then how would you if you were god (with unlimited power) handle rebellion?

I would personally kill off everyone.If I bumped off Satin,the demons,all the angels...the entire earth and JC himself I could go back to square one.

I would then be by myself and not have to be pissed off about anyone not wanting to worship me.I could then recreate them at my leisure but with a little better control of things.Who would ever know ????

If there is a global catastrophe how will JW structure survive?

i presume the jws believe that the 'times of trouble' will be 7 years or something like that - during that time what provisions have the jw organisation made to stay up and running?

seems to me that if communications fail the local congs will be pretty much stiffed without their weekly magazine study.

does the jw org teach any form of physical preparedness or is it every publisher for themselves?.

I do know that Bethel does store things and at one time bought property away from NYC in anticipation of the end in the 1940's. They eventually used that property for the Gilead School.

Never heard about this one before. Please fill me in. Inquiring minds have to know.

It sounds like another weekly study for the "family" is coming up. Look for it next year when they change to a monthly format.

Each week at home the family can have a WT study, awake study,book study and KM study.This is to prepare for the rehash at the hall.They might offer a carrot to the parents by allowing them to "count time" for the new study.This would help the WT to get their hours up which would prove that Jah is blessing their efforts and if it fails....WELL they know how to put the spin on that also.

They don't circulate 20 million...They print 20 million. Most wind up in recycle without ever being read. I know...I take my wifes discards out twice a year. I once suggested to her that they should have an old magazine drive..take all of them and stuff them in all the doors.They could get their placements up and please the PO and CO. I don't know why she didn't like my idea. ATT Bethel Lurkers...bump this idea upstairs as a good way to get rid of the TRASH. (brownie points)

Elders, has there been any "official" push to target and eliminate faders?

hey current and recently stepped-down elders,.

has there been any direction from the co/do/brooklyn areas to go after the people suspected of 'fading'?

it seems that we're seeing more and more folks getting elder's visits scheduled, like an explosion recently.

Not of the elder class (thank god) but I don't think there will be any "push" just to eliminate faders. I can think of at least 10 faders in my old congregation. Most have large extended family. On the surface they have commited no REAL sin.They just wanted out. If the WT boys tried to enforce a program just to get rid of faders it would blow up in their face with the back lash from relatives.

On another post I did mention that they worded it to be able to DA or DF troublemaking faders easily IF THEY WISHED and I can see that happening.
