Anyone like me where you still believe in MOST of their doctrines?

like i don't like that un involvment, record keeping.

i don't know what to think about the paedophile stuff, because you could accuse the catholic church of that too.

but apart from those things i still believe that god's name is jehovah, his son is jesus, no trinity, and he died on a torture stake... i love reading the new world translation, i believe it's the best one, but i love reading other translations too!

As I said in the post before this, anyone can teach good things. It doesn't matter what religion it is. You just sort out "garbage ideas," and "good life-saving religious ideas," that according to me have been proven true.

I am sorry...I think I may have misunderstood you to start with. I thought you may have been thinking of going back to the WT ORG.

It is obvious you could never go back if you wish to tell the elders that some of their doctrines are"garbage ideas" You must realise with the WT it is all or NONE. They have unity (conformity) you know.

I wish you success if you decide to start your own new religion with most of the leftovers from the WT

Some JWs Are "In The Closet"

by that, i mean, some witnesses will not just now "out" themselves because of various fears and concerns.

some of us are still "in the closet".

so to speak, because we're not ready to expose ourselves to the "loving brothers", just yet---at least not 100 %.

Even when we're out, we're not really *out* because we still have to try to deal with our broken family ties, friendships, etc. that are ruined because of this religion.

Life would be a lot easier if there was no DF'ing or DA'ing. This is the control that the WT uses to make sure that once you are "IN" you can never get out. Most never really see the "iron fist" of control that the WT uses until they have signed up and by then it is too late.

For me,I have two choices...divorce my wife and walk away from family and extended family or fade below their radar screen and not cause problems for them. I choose to fade but because of this the WT still owns a piece of me. I hate it but it is my choice. Others have taken the other way out and I commend them if that is what works for them.

But it IS all good news: instead of sixty-four pages of shit each month, dubs will only have to read forty-eight pages of shit.

Is that a typo or is the size of the monthly awake going from 32 to 48 ?

when i was the sound guy, it was always so hard to get brothers to do the mics.

I had the ~~misfortune~~ privilege to do the sound system and mics. I was kinda new back then and I honestly thought that everyone was equal....SO I always made sure that all the elders took a rotation for mic duty. I thought things were going really good and I enjoyed my job.

However only a month or so after that the PO decided that my "calling" was with the literature desk.They assured me privately that it was a promotion but I'm not so sure. Didn't EVER see an elder handle mics after that.

Do the Witnesses still think you're a "brother"? If so, you're not "out".

Gee...No wonder you have so many posts. It took you 5 tries just to ask ONE question. And picking on poor JH just because he was kind enough to point it out to you Having said that....I am still in the closet (in a way) and for the most common of reasons...Family I am married to a "good jw" and have large extended family that I do not wish to give up. They do not however regard me as a "brother" cause they only time I set foot in the hall is the memorial. I do this as a slight solace to my wife....AND also if they ever want to start DA'ing the dropouts(they can make up new rules) I can honestly say I didn't quit,just slowed down a lot. I am just a poor weak lost sheep.

there are some really smart people out there like Blondie and Neo who say it all very succinctly, and much better than I could.

there are some pretty interesting items, and next week or so i'll be putting up some informants, mags from the 20s, 30s and 40s, etc.

but one thing caught my eye as i was reading the messenger of aug. 12, 1946. description:.

australia, austria, belgium, britain, canada, czech, denmark, finland, greece, hongkong, hugary, italy, japan, the netherlands, norway, portugal, puerto rico, romania, slovakia, sweden, switzerland, usa.

last year it was seven and now twentytwo countries with zero or negative growth.. remember when japan was growing by double digits each year?.

I really get a laugh out of seeing Japan go to "0"

For a number of years they were the "poster child" for the WT.

They would have parts on the meetings.....look at Japan 15% growth last year

look at Japan...35% are pioneers

look at Japan...5000 new congregations formed last year

I bet it's been a long time since Japan has been brought up at a SM in a effort to goad the flock into doing MORE..MORE MORE

The % I quoted were made up but I know the numbers were quite high.

I don't know how much is internet related and how much is due to cultural changes in the fabric of Japanese society...BUT I LOVE IT

i don't know about anybody else,but i love the beautiful king james version.it contains no error and is perfect.there are no mistranslations in it,and none can be proven.i don't read or study anything else for spirituality.im like a tree that is planted by the water,i shall not be moved,amen,amen,hallelujah,praise jesus!!!!
