umber: What I really want you people to know is that the Royal Commission may be over in terms of the live streaming, but it will not be over for a long time. Months to be exact. I didn't know this and find it a valuable piece of information.

Contacted by Royal Commission today
by umbertoecho infirstly, thank you to anyone who is in support of this rc.
no one has shown anything but great interest and empathy for those who were abused.. i don't know who this simonsays character is though and i find him to be very rude and ignorant.
it takes all kinds to make the world go round i suppose.. today i was contacted by a staff member of the royal commission.

Australian RC - Hot topic
by punkofnice ini have listened to segments of the hearing.. i am really impressed with the way the rc are well informed about jw procedure and the 'flock book'.. does anyone know how the rc got so clued up?
are they just that good at what they do?
(not saying they're not).. have 'mentally diseased apostates(tm)' been of use to the rc?.

Punkie, when you think about it, it is pretty ridiculous.
The elders have one little skinny book, a fistful of letters from the WTS, a bunch of grade three level WT literature/magazines...and a big book called a bibble.
Have you ever been inside of a law library? Wow...woww. Or even inside a lawyer's office - with rows and rows of law books all lined up and even lying all over the place. Those lawyers appearing for the Commission have a mountain of knowledge behind them that they can access and that they have studied. Those poor pathetic elders have a skinny little book, and a bibble. And a hot line to "the branch".
This is not a fair fight at all. The JWs came to the court armed with a silver sword and a pocketknife. That sword is a toothpick compared to the Commission's weaponry. Even those WT lawyers are sadly incompetent.

punkofnice: Does anyone know how the RC got so clued up? Are they just that good at what they do? (Not saying they're not).
Probably some of both.
However, I would weigh in heavily on "that good at what they do". What is showing is the fine minds of those who are real lawyers. This is what "law" is all about - not the fumbling around in the dark saying "da Bibble says so".
The WTS rule books are what are hanging them - good lawyers look for inconsistencies and the WTS is full of inconsistenices. Just think how convoluted their doctrines are and how we can pick them apart. A lawyer can do the same thing to their "legal" procedures.
These guys are good. Really good. They have also had lots of input from those victims who have come forward - but they certainly have done their homework. They will have read every single word of the survivors' statements and have meticulously went over each word in the WTS documents. "Expert" lawyers are ones who do solid and excellent research. Microscopic examination of everything pertaining to Jehovah's Witness law. Of course they can hand these guys their asses - the only thing the JWs know is "Jehovah's Law". These lawyers know way more than that. They are worldly lawyers!
These Commission people are goood.
Who's yr daddy now? Lol!
Stuart gets spot on week WT-spots on almost every topic.
Exactly. That is exactly what happens when you put WT logic up against a solid legal mind. When you dissect the WTS from a purely outside view, the inconsistences are glaring and the weak spots are obvious.
Of course, the apostate voice is strong. However, it would be rather simple to have a legal team do some on-line research. Hell, all they would have had to do was visit some of the forums and groups online. Research the apostates and what they say. We are pretty vocal. That would be the easiest and most efficient way to gather his information on insider politics.

Confidentiality. Confidentiality. Confidentiality. RC Hearing Day 5
by passwordprotected inconfidentiality.
how many times does ron de rooy state the importance of jehovah's witnesses being confidential?.

But, but....how many times did they meet and discuss all those "disgusting" things that the abuser did - they knew he had sex with his daughter. They say they believed her.
And they talked about it to the branch...and "other congregations". They are trying to appear proactive in their "supervision" of him and denying him reinstatement. But all it shows is that they broke confidentiality many times over. There is no confidentiality in the process they took. On one hand, BCG was conselled to not even speak about the abuse to her husband - but, then, when DeRooy went to "comfort" her, he emphasized that BCG's husband was in the room.
So weird....such strange and convoluted thinking. Their understanding about confidentiality is keeping it "confidential" from "the world". They think that their secrecy laws are the same as confidentality laws. They are so confused.

username: I think the watchtower lawyer is signalling quite a lot when I'm looking at him. Now I know he is the watchtower lawyer I'm going to go through all the other videos again to see if he is directing all the elders.
There was a lot of signaling by the WT lawyers going on during this last session. All of the lawyers at the back table are WT lawyers. The one that I first noticed doing hand signals was the old guy at the left of the screen - all you can really see of him most times is his slack mouth hanging open. But, last night, he became quite animated...holding his hand up to his mouth and fidgeting with his tie.
The hand movements are what caught my eye first - and then man in the middle made those so obvious sign language movements - it was unmistakable - and acted guilty when Stewart turned around - almost caught with his hand in the cookie jar!
Are they supposed to be signaling? Can they coach during testimony? What is going on? Are they signaling someone else who is watching?
And...what do those signals mean?

Another Elder has developed amnesia.
by umbertoecho inthe elder just being questioned is yet another sly manufacturer of deceit and the use of theocratic warfare.. how can these men say the can't remember when it's their own letters, their own implemented policies.
hell, it's their own books and magazines the commission is using, along with internal letters etc.
another dry mouth there........as he sat up all alone and experienced first hand the faith building experience of ....speaking with a thick tongue as all his juices dried up.........

Derooroo could remember some things.
He couldn't remember anything about the first case he was asked about except what the case was about.
It was for the disfellowshipping of a man who looked up skirts. Derooroo couldn't remember the guy's name or anything at all...except he did remember the "crime" itself.
Yeah... what happened to BCG was "so disgusting" he couldn't remember what it was that digusted him. Just that he was disgusted, really disgusted.
"Something about a shower and a door..." But that's all...just a shower and a door.
Rooy was constantly tripping himself up. He would say he "couldn't recall" something but later, he would give details about what he couldn't recall.
He claimed he had read none of the material submitted, yet when WT lawyer questioned him it was "Yes, yes" to remembering whatever the WT dude asked him.
These elders have been so heavily coached that they have a hard time remembering what they are supposed to say. Their memories all of a sudden appear when they are being questioned by "the right guys".
I thought that BCG's lawyer's manner of questioning deRooy was brilliant - she had him speaking goobblydegook at her - just like he would with any woman! He went on and on at one point talking in circles about nothing...and she just was quiet and let him hang himself. He got all pompous and bragging about all his "training" when she questioned him. His body language and voice changed - he was the "man" and she was the "woman". He groveled and simpered wwith Stewart but he rose to the occasion and spoke down to the woman lawyer (who was wearing slacks! - nice touch...).
I can't get over how much "investigation" time the elders invest in the paedophile's behavior - constantly meeting with him, constantly engaged in "calling the branch" and discussing his child sex crimes with each other. How many hours did they spend in their pursuit of details about his crimes? How many hours did they question the perpetuator about what he had done?
They admitted to questioning him over and over to "try to force a confession". And, DeRooy says that they "were confident" that "more would come to light". yeah...confident all right - confident that the paedophile would provide them with even more fodder for the child sex stories and incidents they could meet about and talk about together. That is why they wanted to put BCH back in the home - the elders would get a chance to hash out all the details of BCH's reoffending. Of course they were confident "more would come to light". Sick bastards.

Thanks for posting those so quickly, Control!
Check out part two for the WT lawyer's twitchy fingers. The guy in the middle behind Stewart wearing glasses.
Start about 48:40 until at least 51:32 or so. Who is he signaling? Notice that he starts when there is a bit of a wait, Derooroo wasn't being questioned...and then he does this weird little move when Stewart turns around. And then, a couple more active sign moves with his fingers..,50:53 and 51:29.
Can someone tell what is going on there?
He does a really strange foot shuffle once, too. I will have to look for that move.

Monty was honest. He told it like it was - all the bumps and bruises. His description of women was accurate. The women having their heads covered - when an unbaptized male was present. True.
He just told the truth. It was his truth. It works. He honestly revealed how he thought women are treated in the JWs.

Whoa...Monty Baker's lawyer questioned Derooroo as to why he didn't read the statements.
"Was it because they were made by people who were speaking out against the JWs?"
(sic)
Something like that.
Excellent question.

She is good. So good.
Notice she is wearing slacks. Power dressing.
She has him talking to her like he talks to "sisters". He has his 'teaching to women' posture and voice going. He slips to his 'authorative posture', including taking his glasses off at one point and looking disdainfully and waiting patiently for her. Perfect display of how elders talk to women.
Oh my. What a performance.
