Fisherman9 hours ago1914 is definitely on the chopping block. And let me remind you of the mountains of changed doctrines and prophecies ever since the Watchtower's inception back in the late 1800s.Just because the WTS printed something on such and such a date is pretty meaningless in the whole big picture, Fisherman. They have flipped doctrines before and they will do it again.
Don't count on such conclusion. Remind you of the 1/14 WT study, paragraphs 14-16.

Something tells me 1914...
by Monsieur inafter todays watchtower lesson, and the lessons coming, something tells me bigger and bigger new understandings are coming.
and that it will culminate with 1914. notice how jesus is now coming, and no longer already here.
the current understanding is both, he is here and hes also coming.

finklestein: It should be realized that the Watchtower Corporation bought and sold the return of Christ as its fundamentally largest doctrine and exploited this all throughout the 20th century.
That is true, Finklestein, however, the Watchtower has done some major flips in doctrine and were successful in the past in making radical doctrinal shifts.
For example, the dramatic shift from the WTS' pro Zionist stance prior to 1925 to a 'replacement theology' was a very significant shift. And the Watchtower survived - they just did a makeover. A new name, a new structure, the old guard was thinned out, and voila! the Jehovah's witnesses was born.
Today, the same thing is happening...major doctrinal changes and shifts are part of the changing landscape. And, besides, the WTS has always been politically savvy, and frankly, the notion of a Messiah returning to lead a special group of people just isn't very politically current for global financial concerns.

A Toast to All the Brave Kids Who Broke Up with Their Toxic Moms
by rebel8 insometimes holidays can be hard on us.
some of us deserve a little toast today.. a toast to all the brave kids who broke up with their toxic moms.

Yes.
A toast to all of us 'motherless' ones!
And a toast to my mother whose most valuable lesson to me was how not to mother. From her, I leaned what not to do with my own children.
And, today is my favorite day of the year. My children treat me like a queen every Mother's Day.
Thank you , Mother. You taught me well what not to do.

I agree, wallsofjericho.
1914 is definitely on the chopping block.
The WTS is morphing into a more 'acceptable' mainstream 'Christian' church. They have made some rapid changes in a very short time.
Soon, the Rutherford years, and the Knorr and Franz years, will read as ancient history.
All ye behold - the new arisen jw..org is here!
The serpent is shedding its skin yet again.

Looks like that website copy pasted parts of the usual advanced medical directive and added in their own stuff.
Yes. But - "that website" was run by JW HLC members and we know that the HLC are Watchtower affiliated.

Shiamak Davar, Bollywood Star, defends spiritual group after assault allegations.
The VRRP Spiritual Learning group follows the teachings of Khorshed Bhavnagri and her book The Laws of the Spirit World, written, she claimed, through messages she received from her dead sons, who were killed in a car accident in India in 1980.
VRRP stands for Vispi, Ratoo, Rumi and Popsie — the names of Bhavnagri's two deceased sons, their father and their grandfather, respectively.Bhavnagri's book predicts a catastrophic shift in the Earth's axis that will wipe out "all negative energies" and kill 75 per cent of the world's population.
"Cataclysmic earthquakes will cause this major imbalance which will be followed by floods, tidal waves, fires, more earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and so on," wrote Bhavnagri.
But her book assures members of her group that people "at higher realms will be saved."
"UFOs will send down levitation beams to evacuate good souls who are trapped in dangerous places," wrote Bhavnagri.Dr. Michael Elterman, a forensic and clinical psychologist who has studied cults, said the difference between a spiritual group and a cult is whether other aspects of members' lives are controlled by the group.
"What really particularizes it as a cult is the sense of control that is over the individual" said Elterman, who has not studied VRRP.
"If you look at the history of cults, there is generally what is called a charismatic leader, who will control every aspect of the individuals' life, from how they dress to what they eat, to their daily routine," said Elterman. -

Curious to see the most recent US versions.
Here is a version of the Medical Directive that you probably won't find many places.
I downloaded the above medical directive as a pdf and printed it off and scanned it, in January 2011 from a now defunct website - mybloodsite.com. The site had several connections to JW HLC members - Richard Melseth, for one. And it was linked to the SABM - a Society that was founded by JW HLC heavies The site - mybloodsite.com - is now accessible through the waybackmachine but the medical directive is no longer available.
What is particularly interesting about the above medical directive is that it has the UN logo on it, and it refers to a United Nations Act of 2000.

"The organisation is imperfect, but it doesn't affect my relationship with Jehovah"
by Alive! ini've noted active, devoted jw's state the above.. and, it's not a problem for me to remain trusting of god, i just don't trust religions or men.. recently, a member of this forum stated that he remains an active jw, in the family of god's people, wanting to encourage and do good - whilst recognising that the pastoral leaders (the gb) have shipwrecked the faith of many, being unsound scripturally etc, etc.. stop and think about this - the bible says to not follow after those who lie and hurt the faith of "little ones".. the pharisees were accused of traversing over lands and expending much energy to make a single convert - only for that convert to end up worse of than he started off with.. it's one thing to not believe this is the 'truth' and feeling the awful pressure of managing ones life, trying not to lose ones family.. it's quite another thing to declare oneself to be a christian believer of god's jw household, and somehow believe the god of love would use corrupt liars to parade as jesus' brothers in the urgency of last days.
really?
and, to then visibly promote faith in corrupt men, and try to bring converts into a place where the rulership is wrong.. some of us are dying from hurt here.......give me a break..

"The organization is imperfect, but it doesn't affect my relationship with the organization."
I have heard that statement from JWs. I think it is one of the most pompous, self-centered, egotistical statements that they make. It makes me want to scream when they say it.
In other words, what they really are saying is, "Oh yeah...all those guys...the sinners...but, not me! No, no no! My relationship with the Mighty One is perrrfect. So...I am perrrrfect too!"
Accompanied by either a) a smirk of self satisfaction...or b) sad little eyes for all those sinners who are the imperfect men in the organization...or c) righteous indignation (flared nostrils and raised eyebrows).

What is the connection between Astrology, Jesus, the Apostles and the Cross
by I_love_Jeff inthe 12 apostles????.
jesus' astrology birth chart???.
maybe the jehovah's witnesses have something right about the cross and its connection with paganism???
-

The symbol of the cross is much older than Christianity and images of the cross exist across many ancient geo-cultures.

BluesBrothers: I thought that this was a big admission on the notes to Secretaries:
sisters when complications arise.
Special instructions are available....Out of their own mouth they said it..Pregnancies can prove to be particularly dangerous for our
Of course the HLC has to identify the pregnant JW women. They have a recruiting responsibility to provide babies to InfaCare Pharmaceuticals Corporation, the producers of Stantate:
