  Did Rutherford use the KJV of the bible when he took over the WTS ?

  Yes. I believe that the KJV was used right up until the NWT was published in the 1960s. My dad's old JW bible is a KJV.

  Yes, the King James version does use 'Jehovah'.

  'Jehovah' appears 7 times in the KJV (all in the Old Testament).

  Finklestein, I think that the use of the word 'Jehovah', within the Millerite movement, was already well established by the time that Russell got his feet wet in the proverbial muck of bible prophecy.

  George Storrs published the Bible Examiner in 1843 until 1880. His text is liberally sprinkled with the word 'Jehovah'.

  Finklestein: Does anyone have any old WTS. articles that used Jehovah or relating to when and how the WTS started to use Jehovah ?

  Charles Russell used the word 'Jehovah' when referring to God.

  In the January 1884 Zion's Watchtower, 'Jehovah' is used 61 times.

  However, I believe that it was Da Judge who made the use of the 'name' into what it is today.

  all these leaders has been elected by un elite group controlling big values in form of real estate, bank account, enthusiastic voluntary working task forces, almost willingly to die for their leaders.

  the workers (slave class), is never ever supposed to question the leaders decisions.

  Turning over the ranking system to an entity like Google makes it very vulnerable to powerful entities influencing those rankings.

  Simon: I think the only fact that makes it remotely acceptable is that it's a minority group.

  That is exactly why groups of people marginalized have separate competitions. It is because the white majority (by majority - I mean the majority of power) take up too much space and are based on white-privilege standards. The separate competitions are designed to allow space for those who are discriminated against in the general population.

  I personally think it is negative because it just reinforced differences and promotes that idea that skin-color-based discrimination is acceptable.

  That idea, "that skin-based discrimination is acceptable", is already prevalent in the population at large. If that idea wasn't already there, these "skin-based" competitions wouldn't be necessary.

  *And about the use of the term "Bloody Sunday" - I was somewhat confused - I thought this thread was about events 110 years ago in 1905 - I didn't know that "Bloody Sunday" was being appropriated by the black population. I guess I can learn something new every day.
