New Apostate: Tempest in a Teacup
by Tempest in a Teacup infirst post on here.
i've been lurking for 3-4 years and i mean i've been a mega lurker, doing marathon reading sessions for months or weeks.. sometimes i proceed by researching specific topics, or posters; other times just reading current discussions.
i'm particularly fond of "old" post, i.e 10-12-15 years ago.. i have laughed, smiled, got mad, cried etc, just reading some threads here.. as you can see i suffer from some kind of "accute lurkitis".

Today's WT Study based on a theme that adds words not found in the original Greek.
by leaving_quietly intoday's wt study, from the december 15, 2014, is based on mark 7:14, which says:.
so calling the crowd to him again, he said to them: listen to me, all of you, and understand the meaning.
the two words at the end, "the meaning", are not found in the greek.

I also do dot agree with the explanations.
I believe the growth of the leaven in three parts, means that Christianity grew through different christian religions and organisations.
I also don't believe in the explanation in next week's article about the fish-men who catch good and bad fish. I think the real separation will be at Armageddon and the judgement will be individual.
I believe the illustrations discussed in the 2 articles show that the message on the kingdom of god grows through different christian religions and organisations and in the end the judgement and the salvation will be individual.
I also believe the explanations are "forced" just to fit into our general believe that the JW's are the only religious organisation approved by God.
They are doing what they say in the beginning of the first article we should not do if we want to understand the meaning.
PS: English is not my fist language, please excuse my mistakes, if they exist.

Site issues: Jan 02 Update (Sign In)
by Simon ini've deployed a fix for people affected by sign-in issues caused by having multiple accounts associated with the same email address.
here's how to activate the fix:.
you must attempt to sign in using the email address associated with your account (not a username) and must have access to that mailbox.. if there are multiple accounts associated with the email address then you will be shown a warning message with the option to have an email sent to repair your account.. the email will contain a link to a page showing all the accounts associated with the same email address and allow you to select the one you want to be active (it will disassociate all the other accounts from the email address).. once you have completed the process then you should be able to sign in as normal.

TV.JW.Org - WTF is Wrong With This Guy? - CAPTION THEM
by passwordprotected ini've heard about his bombastic, overly patronising, cartoon-ish delivery before, but i'd never actually seen it...until now.
and i should add, this religion bears little to no relation to the one i left 6 years ago.. .

if this religion has little to do with the one you left, it's time to rejoin, don't you think?

A few questions for believers
by keyser soze inwhen confronted with all of the inconsistencies and atrocities of the bible, many believers invariably claim that they don't base their faith in christ on what's written in the bible.
so what is the basis then, if not scripture?.
and please don't tell me "the lord has revealed himself to me".

I belive the Bible is the word of God.
What is presented in the Bible is the truth for me. Sometimes this truth includes some hystorical facts that happened, comitted by men, not neceesary at the command of God. If some peole comitted atrocities, those facts are written in the Bible because they happened, but they ar not taken as a good example. The bible is historycally correct. I do not believe atrecities were comitted by God. They were comitted by people and the bible is truthful about the facts.
When God did command for some people to be killed, it was for justice purpose.
And even if some innocent people were killed in the wars of God, he has the power to ressurect, he will give second chances to people who He considers that they deserve.
And who are we to judge God?
