  Has Watchtower financial strategy taken a very dark turn?

  as shepherdless pointed out on another thread, the watchtower business model of using free labour to produce and sell books and magazines for profit started to break down when charging for the literature ended in 1990, and has now begun disintegrating completely in the face of the internet and declining donations.

  over this same period there has been a noted increase in hardline rhetoric on disfellowshipping and pushing early baptism.

  might these hardline trends actually be related to their money woes?

  Governing Body Letter details things that "have never been done before." - Really?

  What a bunch of rubbish and mind control this cult is. The word "delightful" stood out for me. They even tell people how they should feel about this crap.

  Someone can be a publisher reporting just 15 minutes a month if elderly or infirm. If that wasn't the case I wonder what the adjusted average publishers would be.

  the fear has passed of being out and i'm never going back to the funny farm.. an excellent book i came across for current and former jw's in the healing process is "exiting the jw cult: a healing handbook" by bonnie zieman.

  it's available on amazon kindle for $6.99.

  Hello all

  I was in the cult for twenty years and DA'd in Sept. 2014. As time passes I feel that I am ready for more healing. The fear has passed of being out and I'm never going back to the funny farm.

  An excellent book I came across for current and former JW's in the healing process is "Exiting the JW Cult: A Healing Handbook" by Bonnie Zieman. It's available on Amazon Kindle for $6.99. She is a licensed psychotherapist.

  I am currently reading Steven Hassan's excellent book "Combatting Cult Mind Control..." We all have psychological wounds from being in the Watchtower, and I had thought of actually getting therapy myself, but didn't because of the time and expense. Plus what psychologist would really understand being in a cult.

  Anyway hope this post helps someone.

  yet, you might look beyond the obvious and ask yourself, does my child enjoy the ministry or only the breaks?

  it amazes me how many of you have left it all behind, including family, brothers and sisters, friends and a full network of people.

  i for one cannot find the courage to breakaway, and this causes me great anxiety and stress.

  it eats me alive to think that if i open my mouth everyone i know will simply turn their back on me.

  I have been lonely, sad and terrified since I DA'd in Sept. of 2014. I have also grown as a person and had extended periods of peace. Met many people at my new job and discovered the world is really not so bad people-wise.

  My choice was to be true to my conscience. I will never regret it. Those born-choose in JW's are too much anyway for the most part. The fear goes away in time. Always follow your instinct is my opinion. The path is your own to choose.

  If I win the lottery

  i haven't yet won the state lottery but i purchased a lottery ticket last night.

  if i win the lottery, it's $150 million.. if i win, my name is publicly announced and of course my picture gets into the news.

  i will probably get df'ed.. however, will the wtbts accept a hefty "donation' from my 'lucky' winnings?

  those were the frustrated words of my friend as we stood out in his large yard in the country, just about to enjoy a nice bonfire on a beautiful night.

  I noticed he shakes his head back and forth to disagree when he says a statement he knows is not true. He's purposely lying up on the stage. Happened like four or five times. What a piece of @$&(.
