Need to vent: Wife just went in full cult mode, huge fight. she is so brainwashed
by goingthruthemotions inout of the blue my wife started to ask me about my feeling about the borg.
i told her i didn't want to talk about it...she persisted.
she already knows how i feel, i told her that my biggest beef is that they use mind control, and yep she went in to how i was an apostate and how she doesn't want to be married to an apostate.

I'm very sorry to hear of this development.
This was my fear.
I hope this works out.

Losing Faith
by cappytan ini've always been a "spiritual" person.
i've been an avid bible reader since as early as i can remember.
i read the bible cover to cover for the first time when i was about 17 years old and have read it at least twice more since then.

Welcome!
Research is key to successfully undoing the effects of brainwashing/mind control. I must have been spending 3-6 hours a day for a number of months until finding new topics to cover became more effort.
Proving to yourself, using the passage of time and the WT publications as tools makes it simple to show what WT really is.
PM's are of course, always welcome.

Called on a DF'd person today.
by kairos inwow, what a surprise that was!.
i expected a warm welcome, as this was someone i have known for a very long time.. nope, uber disfellowshipped jw.
totally caught me off guard.

In my mind, I expected her to be happy to see me and thrilled to hear that I also am not attending. Boy, was I wrong.
The replies here seem to indicate this mindset she has is likely normal. Really sad to see the darker side of mind control.

Seeing these people is a real eye opener.
We were all like them as well to varying degrees, but mind control was the active ingredient, yes.
I could imagine seeing myself using the same old tired arguments and circular reasoning just 3-4 short years ago. That's the bigger revelation hear, past self examine.

A couple other little details I left out from earlier:
She asked if my wife and I were still together and if she was still a JW. ( This is crazy, but JW normal ). I told her that my wife and I are indeed still together and our relationship improved after I left. She was having a hard time believing me. She expected that my still in wife, to her relief, didn't leave me.
Also, I reassured her that she is still a human, I will not shun her.
She looked offended, afraid or nervous. It was hard to tell.-------
Thanks for the reply comments. I'm interested in hearing more folks' experiences.

Nope, Uber disfellowshipped JW. Totally caught me off guard. Reminded me she is disfellowshipped and expected me to leave her, shunned. I told her I didn't care about that and had come to see her. This person has been out for at least a year, maybe longer and still hasn't corrected her "sinful course". I was told how she was looking forward to visiting with "the friends" again. She took full responsibility for the DFing.
It was really eye opening. I told her I quit attending the meetings nearly two years ago. This made her sad. She was NOT interested in hearing any TTATT commentary. I zipped in a quick one about the UN NGO membership. She had never heard anything about it and would not open her mind to the possibility that this could in fact be true. Said she would have read about it ( referring to the WT, I expect ) and made comments that indicates she has no trust for the media.
She is trying to get her life together and return to "the organization", as she put it. Attends all the meetings. Endures the shunning as necessary. Proper.
I've never seen this first hand. A glimpse into the life of a DF'd person that accepts and cooperates with the Watchtower, intent on returning and getting "spiritually strong" again. The whole while, praising Jehovah.
How could you be out and not research the JW's on the internet? It's not like they'll DF you again.

How would you respond?!?!?
by DATA-DOG inan eldub recently said, " sure, we have changed many beliefs in the last 100 years, but christendom has had 2,000 years to clean up their act an they haven't done it.".
this was prompted by today's wt session which mentioned nathan knorr's eager acceptance of rutherford's refinements concerning the 1,260 days.
of course, he also said that he can't really keep up with everything.

I would be thrilled if she would read those verses and think deeply and honestly.
That's out of the question right now.

No. I'm not confused.
Been out for some time now.
I'll never return. NOT EVER.
Coming to terms that we should have carried the sacred name:
"Watchtower's Witnesses"
At least we would have had just a shred of honesty as we walked up to the door.
Just pondering as my wife is off at the hall on a foggy Sunday morning.
