This just came to me, must have been mentioned before, right?

The name of the group is A LIE!!

We all announced and taught that we were "Jehovah's Witnesses".

I'm struggling to find more words right now.

Good point, kairos. I don't think even ToMo3 or Stephen Lett have witnessed Jehovah.

Of course, be prepared for a true believer to come back with something like the following:

We are walking by faith, not by sight.

We have witnessed Jehovah with our eyes of faith.

Jehovah's blessing in our lives provides us with a witness of him.

Jehovah is just a Latinised version interpreted with consonants from the Hebrew YHWH

from Catholic medieval origin.  12th century   AD.

JWS are just devised sellers or witnesses of the Watchtower version of the Gospel,

which is not accurate toward what the true Gospel of the bible is.

    No. I'm not confused.

Been out for some time now.

    I'll never return. NOT EVER.

Coming to terms that we should have carried the sacred name:

    "Watchtower's Witnesses"

At least we would have had just a shred of honesty as we walked up to the door.

Just pondering as my wife is off at the hall on a foggy Sunday morning.

kairos. eye witness accounts are the most unreliable, should be spelled un-re-lie-able.

    spiritual vision even more so.

if you climb above that west-coast fog, there is clear sunshine, brilliant light above.

KAIROS - why not get your wife to look at these scriptures, and then ask her to show you one single verse which says Christians must witness for God?

Matthew 10:18 - ".....for my sake, for a witness to them and the nations.

Mark 13:9 - "......before governors and kings for my sake, for a witness to them."
Acts 1:8 - "You will be witnesses of me...."
John 1:15 - "John bore witness about him..." [JESUS]
John 5:37 - "the Father who sent me has himself borne witness about me."
John 8:18 - "the Father who sent me bears witness about me."
John 15:26,27 - "..will bear witness about me; and YOU in turn, are to bear witness."
Acts 4:17,18 - ...upon the basis of this (Jesus') .... upon the basis of the name of Jesus.
Acts 10:39 - "And we are witnesses of all the things he [Jesus] did..."
Acts 10:43 - "To him [Jesus] all the prophets bear witness....."
Acts 13:31 - "who are now his (Jesus') witnesses to the people.
Acts 22:15 - "because you are to be a witness for him [Jesus] to all men......"
Acts 22:20 - "......the blood of Stephen your [Jesus'] witness was being spilled..."
Acts 23:11 - "..... a thorough witness on the things about me in Jerusalem..."
    Acts 26:16 -"I [Jesus]..choose you as an attendant and a witness..respecting me"
1 Corinthians 1:6 - "even as the witness about the Christ..........."
1 Tim. 2:6 - "......what is to be witnessed to at its own particular times."
2 Timothy 1:8 - "............of the witness about our Lord.. [Christ]"
1 John 5:9 - "the witness God gives...the fact that he has borne witness concerning his Son."
Revelation 1:9 - "....for speaking about God and bearing witness to Jesus."
Revelation 3:8 - ...."and you kept my word and did not prove false to my name."
Revelation 12:17 - ".......and have the work of bearing witness to Jesus."
Revelation 17:6 - "........and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus."
Revelation 19:10 -".....the work of witnessing to Jesus.... bearing witness to Jesus."
Revelation 20:4 - "............ for the witness they bore to Jesus."

Then explain that Jesus Christ was “the Faithful Witness..." for God!  (Revelation 1:5)

God doesn't need imperfect humans to witness for Him - Christ alone has already done that. Now Christians have to witness for Christ - not God!

I would be thrilled if she would read those verses and think deeply and honestly.

That's out of the question right now.

Any name beyond Christian inevitably leads to  extra-biblical sectarianism which Paul was highly critical of.

1Co 1:12  Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.  13  Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
