  have received news of the passing of alan fuerbacher today having just turned 70 years of age.

  alan was an earlier and frequent poster on this forum and was a strident critic of wt bible chronology.

  i enjoyed the continuous debate on matters relating to 607 bce and will miss his intellectual contributions and his scholarship even though i disagreed with much of his contributions on this subject.

  I didn't interact with him on this forum but I did manage to read some of his posts while lurking, plus I googled his take down of the Biblical flood, which was a very good piece of scholarly work.

  A very intelligent guy who will be missed.

  i'm interested in your thoughts.. the media tells us a lot of agenda driven propaganda.

  you're hard pressed to spot truth these days.. however, i'm told that the rona is now just a rotten flu and not the plague we were originally terrified in to believing.

  last time i heard it was down in the hit parade to 16th nasty health thing.. all the people and family i know that have had the rona, have been complaining it's a very crappy flu.

  The obsession is with Rona, don't we do the same for other infectious/contagious nasties? - exactly.

  Take the flu. Some people are vulnerable, and they are given shots every winter.

  I think this is one issue where most politicians would have preferred to never have had to make many of the really hard decisions they had to make - maybe so, but when it came to granting emergency powers they champed at the bit.

  There needs to be a rigorous enquiry into the UK government's handling of the pandemic.

  Everything - the stats of Covid deaths need examining (how many died of Covid v how many died with Covid), the science behind mandatory masks and 2m distance, 'rule of six', the whole damn lot.

  Why are varied businesses, countries and other types of places/people still very obsessed with it - because Covid gave them the reason/excuse to give themselves strict powers.

  Yes.

  They 'study' with unsuspecting members of the public to make new JW members.

  No, you are not obligated in any way - this is 'theocratic warfare', aka lying or bullshitting.

  I wouldn't recommend studying with JWs, and I certainly wouldn't recommend actually becoming a JW.

  But, it's your life, your choice. If you choose to study with the JWs, then it's on you.

  It also strikes me as funny when people say 'Putin's gone mad!'. The reality is Putin hasn't changed - it's the media and politicians who never knew the real Putin.

  And that's pretty scary. Putin and his colleagues aren't going anywhere.

  We've got to deal with him, and by that I mean handle with extreme care.
