What do you think about Nehemia Gordon theory regarding "Yehovah" as God's name pronunciation that never got completely lost?
by psyco innehemia gordon, in his book "shattering the conspiracy of silence", argues that "yehovah" is god's name pronunciation and it has never got completely lost, giving a linguistic explanation.
what do you think about that?.

If God exists, what would be a good reason why he never communicates or helps his creation by intervention?
by pistolpete inyou have probably heard all kinds of excuses why god doesn’t communicates with his creation or why he doesn’t intervene.. some examples.. no one can see god because he is a spirit.. but we can hear god---yet he chooses not to talk to humanity.. god only communicates with certain people.
moses, samuel, abraham, etc.
but there are many people today who also claim that god spoke to them yet we ignore them but believe god spoke to people who lived thousands of years ago and we can’t really verify if that was so.

Good question posed by the OP.
If God does exist, he does himself no favours.

Does christianity induce insanity?
by fulltimestudent inthis is happening in western australian indigenous communities .... quote: "some american-based preachers are distributing emails and videos warning that covid-19 vaccines are evil and the work of satan, and the notion has infected some christian communities in the west australian outback.. veteran aboriginal health worker kathy watson said people spreading false information about the covid-19 vaccination and its links to the devil were "mad".".

Political ideology is just as dangerous as religious fanaticism - yes, I absolutely agree.
When we think of suicide bombers we often think of Al Qaeda nutters.
But members of Kurdish separatist groups have blown themselves up in Turkey (I think).
Political ideology can sometimes be more subtle than religious fanaticism but it is still dangerous.
We have biological males - beards penis, testicles, the lot - using female only spaces such as toilets because they claim to be women. This is going on because of trans ideology. If, like me, you believe in questioning things, you can't question this because you're shouted down as a 'terf'.
This is a big issue with ideologies - people who adopt them typically don't want them questioned, even though potential damage could be done.

There are probably many factors involved in the mental health of West Australian indigenous people.
What is their mean IQ? Might that also be a factor?

The Stupidity Of The Biden Administration Knows No Bounds
by Simon inso picture this, you are suddenly withdrawing troops after 2 decades in a country and, well, its all gone to shit.. how do you ensure that your vulnerable citizens and allies can get out when the airport is surrounded and no one can get through?.
option 1: it's a trick question surely?
you don't get yourself into this mess in the first place - you withdraw the citizens first, not last, duh!.

@Ultimate Axiom - are you pleased that Biden went through with Trump's initial plan?
Why didn't Biden reverse Trump's plan, like he did with Trump's border wall policy?

Three and a half more years of Biden ...
by LoveUniHateExams inhow is the biden administration doing so far?.
biden reversed trump's plans for the border wall, and now america has thousands of illegal immigrants entering from mexico.. strangely, biden didn't reverse trump's plans for withdrawal from afghanistan, and instead pressed ahead with his own brand of lunacy, literally running away from afghanistan and abandoning its people to the taliban.. what is it with biden?
is he senile or just incompetent?

Guess who's next in line to be President--------------Nancy Pelosi! - and at 81, she's even older than Biden.
Something tells me that Biden will die before she does, though.

How is the Biden administration doing so far?
Biden reversed Trump's plans for the border wall, and now America has thousands of illegal immigrants entering from Mexico.
Strangely, Biden didn't reverse Trump's plans for withdrawal from Afghanistan, and instead pressed ahead with his own brand of lunacy, literally running away from Afghanistan and abandoning its people to the Taliban.
What is it with Biden? Is he senile or just incompetent? Foreign policy was supposedly his strong suit but after recent events that belief looks very silly.
Would Kamal Harris be any better as president? For me, she's largely an unknown quality but she does laugh like a hyena whenever she's asked a difficult question. Not exactly reassuring.
The main point is this: Americans, and the rest of the world, have three and a half more years of this.
What else will happen from a president who can't find his way from his airplane to the front door of the White House?
Will Biden accomplish anything good in his time as president?
Will there be more debacles, and covering from mainstream media?

One issue I have with Taking The Knee is this: taking a knee or kneeling is a gesture that already has a meaning.
A man might go down on one knee (i.e. 'take a knee') to ask for his fiancee's hand in marriage. Why does he kneel? Well, it's obviously meant to convey the idea that the man values the life of his fiancee more than he does his own.
When Muslims pray they go down on both knees and bow so that their forehead touches the ground. Why? Obviously it's because they believe that the recipient of their prayers is infinitely higher than they are, so they literally make themselves as physically low as it's possible to be.
Whenever I see footage or photos of footballers taking the knee, I cannot help but think to myself, what are they kneeling before?
Had Colin Kaepernick just stood and raised his fist instead of kneeling, he could at least have linked his protest back to the 1968 Olympic games protest, etc. But using the gesture of kneeling as a form of protest against racial injustices or perceived racial injusticies just doesn't make sense to me.
I never saw Tommy Carlos, Muhammad Ali, Rosa Parks or Martin Luther King take a knee, lol.
