The United States invades Iraq on the other side of the planet, under false pretences, and western opinion is: that was unfortunate, but we had the best of intentions.
Russia warns for decades about NATO expansion, and that Ukraine is absolutely a red line for them, and western opinion is: this is a complete shock, they won’t leave any other country in peace unless we stop them now.

We, The West, have no moral high ground whatsoever. If we moan that Russia invaded Ukraine illegally, Putin can draw our attention to our own illegal war in Iraq.
If The West worries that evil, nasty Russia will go nuclear, Putin can remind us that the US went nuclear on Japan in 1945 - twice.
It's a sad state of affairs but it's true: The West has no moral high ground, and Putin knows this.

Britain alone has give £2 billion worth of food, clothing, military hardware.

She reigned for so long (70 years) that people kinda couldn't imagine her dying, or imagine life without her.
Well, nobody lives forever.
She died at 96, having spent 70 years putting duty above her selfish concerns.
I've never been interested in pomp and ceremony, but I had built up a respect for The Queen over the years.
Despite a life of privilege, she was old school - no feeling sorry for yourself, shut up and get on with it. And that, for me, made a refreshing change compared to today's generation of snowflakes.
RIP Elizabeth Regina.

when someone mentioned the possible age of a girl his reaction isn't to give any clear denial - he just doesn't know the ages of the prostitutes he slept with.
I'm guessing Lloyd didn't ask the prostitutes for proof of age. Some women are so addicted to drugs that they'll just lie when asked if they're forced into sex work, just so they can get their next fix. Some underage girls might be so scared of their pimp when asked to give their real age that they'll just say their 18 to do their job and get paid.
Obviously, I'm not saying that Lloyd definitely and knowingly slept with underage girls. But Lloydy boy didn't know their real ages, and it's possible that he slept with an underage girl (don't know about Thailand but this is viewed as rape in many countries), or possible that he slept with someone who was forced into sex work (this could also be viewed as rape).
Whatever, it's obvious Lloyd should not be getting into the WTS child abuse side of things when he could possibly have done that himself.

Do we have an inbuilt need to believe in something or someone? - yes, I think we probably do.
Greta and other people from the Thunberg Tendency believe in their own Armageddon (end of the world due to pollution), and salvation (if only people would listen to what they say and agree with them on everything, the world will be saved).
Another religion is belief in human rights. I was arguing/discussing with a woman on facebook about how best to deal with people smugglers, you know, those people who send migrants to their deaths in rubber dinghies. I suggested armed police or the army declare war on the smugglers and eliminate them. She had a bit of a meltdown, piously lecturing me that all human beings have human rights, including smugglers. Ridiculous. I said that I don't believe in human rights, and they don't exist. She literally said that she couldn't talk to me because of this, and called me disgusting. All because I challenged her religious beliefs (human rights).
Another religion in the UK is the NHS. The NHS worship was evident during the early months of the pandemic. Although many doctors and nurses work admirably, the truth is that it is a gigantic black hole that swallows billions of public money. The tories have given the NHS extra billions. Where does it all go? If you dare publically criticise the NHS, all sorts of crazy shit is assumed about you. The NHS shouldn't be beyond criticism.
Other new religions are trans rights and feminist ideology.

we can't assume anything from one response! We can only say that we don't know - when shots have been fired at or on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear base, it's sensible to start from the assumption that it was Ukraine's fault.
The Zaporizhzhia nuclear base has been taken over by the Russian military who are using it as a base. Ergo the Russians wouldn't be stupid enough to shell their own military base, especially considering the fact that the base has nuclear stuff in it.
It must be Ukrainian fighters who fired on the base.
