DATA-DOG, great picture! I had forgotten that one. That guy is Bro. Serna (Cerna?). Patterson Bethelite. He and his wife were at the Branch in Mexico. He provides technical support to translation teams. His wife was in a picture not too long ago, decorating a Christmas tree "at work".

There's always this...
Babylon fell 539 B.C.E
"Babylon fell in 539 B.C." Babylon the Great Has Fallen - God's Kingdom Rules p.184
*** it-1 236 Babylon, History*** October 5, 539 B.C.E. (Gregorian calendar), when Babylon fell before the invading Medo-Persian armies under the command of Cyrus the Great.Plus Nabonidus, 17 years
"On the basis of cuneiform texts he is believed to have ruled some seventeen years(556-539 B.C.E.)." it-2 p. 457 Nabonidus
Plus Labashi-Marduk, 1 year
"Labashi-Marduk ... was a vicious boy, and within nine months he had his throat cut by an assassin." Babylon the Great Has Fallen - God's Kingdom Rules p.184 "Labashi-Marduk, a vicious boy, succeeded him, and was assassinated within nine months." w65 1/1 p. 29
Plus Neriglissar, 4 years
"Neriglissar ... reigned four years" Babylon the Great Has Fallen - God's Kingdom Rules p.184
Plus Evil-Merodach, 2 years
"After reigning but two years King Evil-Merodach was murdered" Babylon the Great Has Fallen - God's Kingdom Rules p.184
Plus Nebuchadnezzar, 43 years
"Nebuchadnezzar ruled as king for 43 years" Insight on the Scriptures, Volume 2 p.480
Equals start of Nebuchadnezzar's reign, Calculated by adding above figures = 606 B.C.
Minus Nebuchadnezzar's 19th year
2 Kings 25:8-9 "And in the ... nineteenth year of King Neb·u·chad·nez´zar ... the servant of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem. And he proceeded to burn the house of Jehovah"
539+17+1+4+2+43 -19=587
Date for Destruction of Jerusalem = 587 B.C.

Digitizing all WT Literature
by ILoveTTATT ini have lots of wt literature that i want to get rid of, and i know that a lot of the literature is "valuable" in the sense that we need to have a record of what was said and when... and hopefully, all the pictures.. one of the least well-preserved of wt literature is the yearbooks.
they contain valuable information that is not on the wt library... for example, all of the pictures of the many jw's, or the charts and data, or the daily text.. .
so, atlantis, or anyone who wants it, i am willing to ship the yearbooks to you with the condition that you will scan them and provide them for the entire community, and you pay for the shipping.anyone willing to take them?.

25 YEARS of compiled yearbook statistics
by 88JM inhello again folks - as promised in my last thread here, i've been working on turning yearbook statistics into excel spreadsheets.. coincidentally, today is my 25th birthday (spare a thought for a fader).. i've now updated the spreadsheet with yearbook data all the way back to 1988 (the year i was born), therefore it now contains 25 years of statistics.. there were a lot of countries changing around and for some it was possible to create a continuation of data.
some are a simple change of name like south-west africa to namibia.
others, for example - in 1993 with czechoslovakia splitting into two countries (czech republic and slovakia) i have added an extra row that provides a continuation of the data, combining czech republic and slovakia back together as if they were still one country.

Changed: Head coverings for sisters, w15 2/15 QFR
by wifibandit indoes a female kingdom publisher need to wear a head covering if she conducts a bible study in the presence of a male publisher?.
in a questions from readers item published in the watchtower of july 15, 2002, it was stated that a sister should cover her head if she conducts a bible study in the presence of a male publisher, whether he is baptized or not.
further consideration of the matter suggests that a modification to this direction is appropriate.. if the male publisher who accompanies the sister while she conducts an established bible study is baptized, the sister would certainly want to wear a head covering.

OneEyedJoe, that was my first thought as well. For Pete's sake! They just read that at the meeting.
