Its not about HITS but actual people !
About 1 million people (unique visitors / average daily figure) visited JW.ORG each day in 2014. At this very moment it is well over a million people a day.

it will obviously make a difference to how jw's obtain their literatrash, they will have to download and print it all themselves before long.. it will make a small difference to the dtod work, they will now refer even genuine questions and interest etc to the site, not taking the opportunity to "witness" on the initial call at all.
this has been happening already to a degree.. the difference i am mainly interested in is the capture of new suckers in to the borg.. we will be able to see when we get 2014's figures, sometime next year, what the rate of increase was over the last ten years.. phizzy the prophet predicts that the rate of increase over the next ten years will not be significantly up.
probably down, but certainly, i feel, not so different from the last ten.. should i be around in ten years to do so, i will wish to ask jw's:.

at the last district convention i remember feeling really embarrassed by the out of date references made about wars and other issues.
for instance, they talked about the hutus and tootises also the serbs and croatians when they talked about war.
they also talked about dr spock telling people not to smack children.
@purrpurr there is a reason why they did refer to events like the genocide in Rwanda . Its documented in a report from a human rights organisation (African Rights) and reported to the Worldwide Council of Churches at their annual meeting that all christian denominations and religions were involved in the killing and genocide.. except for 1 religion.. Jehovah's Witnesses.

@Oneeyedjoe the handshake agreement rumor is only based on hearsay

this is such a non-story. The witnesses had the plot of land much earlier, long before the Murah family bought theirs. The witnesses can do whatever they like with their plot. Even if they wanted a to build a skyscraper it is their right to do so. All their paperwork was right.
This family was just fooled by their real estate agent. There was no view stolen. If they wanted a secured view they had to buy another plot of land without neighbours in front of their view.
i don't mean jws getting stumbled or bored or getting dfd for immorality- there always have been a certain number of those all the time.. i've been out for a few years now but am curious to know from "still ins" if there is any evidence of increasing numbers of people leaving for classic "apostate" reasons - ie either fading or getting dfd because they have done research & realise that this isn't "the truth".. when i was a jw occasionally i would hear of someone suddenly stopping going to meetings & hearing through the grapevine & jw gossip mill that the person no longer believed it was the truth or had expressed doubts in the "slave" etc.
but it didn't happen very often ( though it was increasing somewhat in the years before i left).. one would imagine with the internet & increased information available to all that this would be happening more often.
any evidence of this , anecdotally?
as far as i know from my own experience and knowledge of several congregations.. NO
this weekend we visited the convention.
my findings:.
- no jw.org marketing here at this moment.
the convention Gorby is talking about is the regional convention Utrecht I. In total (combined with the small english speaking convention that was also held in a seperate assembly hall) there were about 9700 visitors this weekend.
The total number of attendants during regional conventions is between 40 and 50 thousand.
I have spoken with many witnesses during the 3 days before and after the program and during the breaks. The overall impression i got was that the Witnesses enjoyed this convention very much and that all that new media stuff with little movies in talks was welcomed very much.
....... then why wouldn't the wtbt$ easily make the entire program, complete with rockstar gb's, cheesy dramas, etc, available on youtube or some other free or almost free web streaming service?
obviously it is a huge burden for a majority of the "friends" to attend a regional convention and many either cannot go or it takes all of our their funds (or borrowed funds) to be able to make it.
how about all the "friends" that are morbidly obese, infirm, have extreme health conditions, have unbelieving mates, or have mental issues which prevent them from attending a convention?
@Richard i cant give away login info. But this is where the convention video in several languages is stored. In our congregations we give people who were not able to attend dvd's or a us device so that they can watch it whenever they like.

@richard its at stream.jw.org
did anybody else get an announcement at their meeting about the branch approved jw.org business cards?.
apparantly, they're real slick and fit into your wallet (making it easier to informal witness).
the logic was, some people don't want to be handed a big tract and would prefer something smaller.. so strange considering how little there is to those tracts!
Those cards already are in use but only at the lecture cards and trolleys
this is the real estate page: http://propertysale.dk/salg/helsinkivej.html.

@Slidin Fast yes its official. The Netherlands is the first country where they will do this. As a matter a fact they already started a 20 million dollar project and will sell another smaller hall as soon as it is finished.
Those new halls will include education facilities and rooms for the temporarily 'students'
