LLFS. It is funny how the same stories get circulated over and over. It's the same old rigmarole .

United Nations churches.
by Ignoranceisbliss init must of been around 1992. i remember all the chatter among local wirnesses was about how the united nations was setting up there own churches around the world.
it seems like there was even a newspaper article to back this up.
it was obvious that this is how governments would finally turn on religion.

It seems like there was even a newspaper article to back this up. It was obvious that this is how governments would finally turn on religion. This scarred me to death. It was clear that the great tribulation was just around the corner! Im not sure if this was just in my area or all over the U.S. I think that it came from someone's relative who was at bethel.
Something else that that horendously frightened me was when news came that the type of bird described in the bible as eating all the dead bodies after Armageddon was miraculously multiplying in numbers really fast. It was clear that jehovah was behind this to get them ready for there feeding frenzy. That's some scary stuff to a 13 year old with a guilty conscience.

Watchtower Tells Us "Employers Seek JWs Only" Yet Most JW Employers Avoid Hiring JWs, Why?
by BucketShopBill inhere's a thought: we're told over and over how employers sing the praises of their jw employees, sometimes with a vague quote about how 'if we could only hire jws, we would as they are so honest'.
however, while some jw employers themselves may hire jw employees (usually cheap entry level positions), most don't.
in fact, many jw's in general who have businesses have a rule not to do work with jws, even those in their congregation.

I run my own business and prefer not to work for jdubs. jdubs typically are cheap and think they can do things on their own. Once I told,a witness that I wasn't going to work for him anymore (he was a horrible customer). He took it personally but I continued to treat him (on a personal level) as if nothing had happened. Eventually he apologized and asked if I would accept him as a customer again. (He promised to be reformed). i reluctantly accepted. So far so good. Hopefully he learned his lesson.
There is a witness mentality that is hard to explain. It's similar to an entitalment mentality.

Just wondering
by ducatijoe inso i am new to this site.. i have left the organization of my own accord.
and doing very well.. why do those of you who are still active, if you are on this site, still attend?.
it is no differance to me... i am just wondering why.... .

I'm one that still attends while fully awake. It is a weird feeling. I went out in service this morning. I try to avoid that as much as possible. Rarely if ever do I do actual door to door work. usually just junk rvs or else the tract work. I despise the ministry. The meetings don't bother me much at all.
I justify it by knowing that this is temporary. I won't grow old in the Borg. My family is the only thing in this world that is important to me. I have to tread carefully as I proceed down this path.
I think that if I believed in a god and felt that the Borg was a false religion I might feel more urgency to get out of it quicker. But I don't.

I have heard is stated many times that the Borg is under financial pressure. I seriously doubt that. And if they were under any serious pressure all it would take is one letter from the governing body begging for money and they would receive an amazing windfall.

All appointed men are being told they have to pioneer now!
by stuckinarut2 inyes, you read correctly..... all appointed men have been told in a new letter that they have to pioneer to "set the lead" whenever there is a "special" campaign month.
they use some scripture saying that these ones have to show by example.... so for any of us who are appointed and have learned ttatt, it is going to be very hard to fade during this time!.

Stuck...
I will keep u posted if they turn up the pressure. I was expecting way more. They haven't even read the list from the stage yet. August is an awful month for the campaign. There are still regional conventions going on. Also many are on vacations. Kids going back to school. I won't have any problem being the only appointed brother to not pioneer if it comes down to that.

Speculation Fall AGM
by Poztate ina lot of comments have been made about possible big changes at the agm in the fall.. comments range from changes to the blood doctrine or who compose the one hundred and forty four thousand.. my speculation is.... (and if someone else had this kind of thread i am not stealing from you..just never read it).
the door to door as we know it will cease to exist.
the publishing of a monthly public wt and awake will end.. instead each month a tract with different subjects and a redirect to jw.org will come out.

Absalom Stated " As long as your kingdom hall has installed its new AV system by August first, you will be able to tie into the annual meeting and the zone visit. As least in the United States."
i have only heard about tying into the zone visit. I have heard nothing about the annual meeting yet. I might have missed that though.

They continue to drop like flies
by suavojr inyes, the jws continue to bleed their young ones, so far in my local kh 3 were dfd, one girl just turned 18 this month and packed her bags and said goodbye to the cult and her cultish parents, another young 18 year old man decided to have a non-jw girlfriend and decided to stop attending and is no longer a witness.
they continue to leave and wt leaders dont give a damn.
they dont do anything to help kids be successful and live a healthy life.. .

In the Midwest I am seeing absolutely no signs of a mass exodus of young ones. It seems about the same as always here. What I do notice is that most hard liners choose not to have kids These are the ultra spiritual ones. The couples that have kids are usually more moderate. They aren't waiting on the paradise These ones usually make for better parents and are more likely to raise kids that will stick around.
