  Britain Branch Construction - UPDATE

  definitely something going in the london bethel.. i thought i'd ask them again (and record it again) what the situation was regarding the new britain branch construction work.. i got the same sister (debbie) and here is how the conversation went: .

  me: i've been told that construction of the new branch has been stopped - is this true?.

  debbie: no, it has not ceased, it's carrying on as normal - can i ask where you're calling from?.

  They are finishing the one building at the new site that was already started, the rest of the project has been put on hold indefinitely.

  i just read an email from a friend, and she shared some very interesting emails from her friends about information on changes now happening at the bethels around the world.

  I have been told that they are considering closing and selling the canada branch and the UK branch and moving printing back to wallkill and the German Branch.

  Also compared sending home all the bethel volunteers to Gideon sending home his troops until he only had 300 left.

  Band Green Day and JWs

  a few years ago i heard of a story about two jw's being at a green day concert.

  i think that the witnesses were bethelites.

  the person that told me that story said that the band was about to play but they couldn't.

  Demoted from elder to MS, anybody ever heard of this?

  so a friend in a nearby hall told me their co came through, and in a hellish week of long meetings and inquisition overhauled the boe.

  only one remains as elder, three were re-appointed as ms, and one, the cobe was deleted entirely.. two new elders were brought in as new secretary and cobe / watchtower conductor, respectively, and introduced to the congregation from the platform on sunday immediately following his second talk.

  he reminded everybody of the authority he has and then named the new appointees.

  The new CO in my circuit in USA has removed 40 elders already, but none of them have been demoted to MS. I actually think it is a positive thing. Maybe it will wake more people up.

  The 1995 Generation Change

  i was just a teenager and have a vivid memory of sitting in a chair doing a microphone for the sunday meeting.

  everyone was commenting that it didn't mean the end was far off, and it didn't change the condition of the dead, or the 144,000, or the trinity so we should still remain faithful.

  this is my first memory as a kid being just a teen that i ever had a single doubt.

  Magnum hit the nail on the head. Most witnesses nowaday, do not read! That is why they play so many videos now. Most dubs now just parrot what they hear from the stage or the TV show.

  wt is insinuating, worse yet, blaming senior jw parents for there not being more younger brothers reaching out to be ministerial servants and elders.

  page 11 paragraph 9 reads as follows: .

  "elders in affluent lands may face an added challenge: how to motivate baptized brothers in their 20s or 30s to get involved in congregation activities.

  Why don't they take the time and ask the brother's in their 20's and 30's the reasons why they are not reaching out? Oh that's right, they don't want the real reason!

  How would elders know the reason someone is not reaching out, when the last two study articles admit that the "teachers" having been reaching out to the "learners"

  New David Splane Video: No 1900 Year Faithful Slave

  governing body member david splane has a new video on tv.jw.org where he talks about all the horrible things committed by martin luther and the protestant reformers.. his conclusion is that there has been no faithful and discreet slave on the earth during the past 1900 years (before 1919 i guess.).

  he also says that maybe there were a few anointed on earth, maybe not.. he did add an interesting statement that he doesn't condemn the other churches just for misunderstanding the bible because the society has done that.. another odd point, was that he actually mentioned catholic missionary work in a somewhat positive light, while totally condemning the reformation views on predestination..

  He mentions that other religions were happy when others were persecuted and killed, but thats exactly how they talk about Armageddon and Babylon the Great being destroyed.

  Maralee, unless the borg releases a link to the video, i dont think anyone here will record all three days.

  But if you want to hear the program so badly, why not just go to the convention yourself?

  I think sir82 hit the nail on the head with his summary. The new releases are copies of other past publications, and calab and sofia are guilt tripped into giving up their ice cream money. Thats how you imitate Jesus these days.

  How long until the "Generation" gets Revised/Dropped?

  if you don't already know this; the latest revision of the insight book has no mention of the "overlapping generation" bs online library, insight book .

  obviously that change will not bee seen by the vast majority of people, so when will this "brighter light" shine through in a wt or assembly talk?

  The updated insight book has removed the last paragraph that talked about tying the Generation to 1914.

  If anything, I think they will have to go away from 1914.

  There's a pattern emerging

  the congregation that i am associated with pledged a monthly amount for the construction of a new assembly hall.

  after it was built, that was where we went for several years, even though it was the farthest-away place we had ever had for our circuit assemblies.. after a few years, lo and behold, our congregation is assigned to a new circuit where (surprise!

  ) a new assembly hall is in the early stages of construction.

  Most assembly halls are only used for 50 days out of the year. And now that they only have 1 day circuit assemblies, it will be even less than that. Why not more circuits using a hall instead of more assembly halls.
