What She Misses About New York City
The sign seen here has been prominently displayed on one of the Watchtower Society’s factory buildings in Brooklyn, New York, since the 1950’s.
has anyone else noticed how alarm bells go off inside a jw mind as soon as they hear someone that "is out" refer to the leaders of this org as "watchtower"?
i've chatted with a few friends now about my doubts and each and every time i've started using phrases such as "watchtower said this" or "watchtower did that", i can almost see their heads about to explode in anger, as if they've just realized they are talking to the lucifer himself.
some have even interrupted and corrected me by reminding me that it's not "watchtower", it's "god's organization".

"if you are a young person you need to face the fact you will never grow old in this system of things.. why not?
because all the evidence in fulfilment of bible prophecy indicates that this corrupt system is due to end in a few years...as a young person you will never fulfil any career that this system offers".

Hey zeb!
May 22 Awake! of 1969.
(This was removed from public access)
How was it removed? on any reprints it was missing.
Ah yes, it was missing from the reprints - oh, but, wait, no....
Only the Watchtower bound volumes were ever reprinted.
And actually, although that project was definitely started - I believe it was probably never finished due to technology overtaking it with the release of the Watchower Library on CD......

Reprint of Watchtower Bound Volumes
What a wonderful provision the Watch Tower Publications Index 1930-1985 is for research and study! However, many brothers do not have in their personal or Kingdom Hall library all the publications referred to in the Index. In order to help provide some of this material, the Society is planning a reprint of The Watchtower bound volumes for the years 1960 through 1979, in English only. These reprints will be produced as we are able to work them into our schedule. It is our intention to make these available five volumes at a time. Orders for the years 1960 through 1964 will be accepted during November.

Hey zeb!
And secondly, I'm calling you out.....
(oh, and feel free to have a chat with both Gorbatchov about jewish women and The Searcher about kingdom halls)

Yeah, it's an important quote and magazine....
But apart from the initial magazine printing, bound volume production and it then going naturally out of print as would be expected of any periodical - how has it been removed from public access?
Has it ever been re-published or re-printed and then public access removed?
In other words, has there ever been public access to it apart from the initial magazine printing and bound volume production? - because you can't remove something that wasn't there to start with........
this notice is not official yet and it should be confidential until released thru the proper channels.
a friend of mine told me about a huge elders meeting in southern california.
the subject was the relocation and dissolution of some congregations; it seems that this is the result of some project that has been going on for some time and is going to be implemented right now.. please let me know if this is happening all over the country?.
Migration? Populations move over time... 50... 30... 20 years....

anyone visited swifterbant or the video stream at the local kh?.
any high- or lowlights?.
asked my inwife if the new hall is nice (i know it's not).
oh, I thought it took place yesterday
sorry
according to the org's website, various congregations will be moving in with other congregations, effective january 1st 2017.
(i've only highlighted a couple) in all probability, their own k.h.
is/has been sold.
Hey The Searcher!
Hmmm, I'm kinda still gonna call you out.....
From The Searchers third post in this thread:
I stand corrected and defer to your alertness. I should have said "many already share a hall and the few that don't, appear to be getting moved into other K.H.'s." New light provided.
Thanks for highlighting the error.
Really? 'many already share a hall and the few that don't' - Really? - sorry to disappoint
It appears that EVERY K.H. you listed in your opening post is shared between two or more congregations - actually, as I highlighted earlier in my previous post on this thread, on average EACH hall you listed is actually shared by 3.5 congregations.
Why didn't you list the London K.H.'s that
aren't shared, and are used by just one congregation?
the irony of usernames
Anyway, no bad feeiings ..... I'll even start you off.... you see, I'm a nice and helpful person
Now it's over to you......
You see, and let's be clear about this, I'm not saying that all London congregations share their K.H.'s - some don't (see above).
Rather, I'm calling you out because I believe most people would have understood that your opening post and title was implying that the majority of the 35 London K.H.'s that you had listed - not just a couple but 35!! and all in London!! - had just one congregation meeting in them.
And therefore - quite understandably and quite easily - that single congregation could be moved to a neighboring K.H. - hey! hey! - and free up real estate that could be - in your words - 'sacrificed for filthy lucre.'
Oh, and not forgetting the mysterious 'according to the org's website, various congregations will be moving in with other congregations, effective January 1st 2017' message that you haven't shown or provided a link to yet (or even a screen shot) ??

Hey The Searcher!
Hmmm, I'm kinda still gonna call you out.....
From The Searchers second post in this thread
if you click on JWdotOrg - About Us - Meetings - Find a Location Near You - Location to Search Near, you can find all of the K.H.'s which serves only one congregation - at the moment!
No you can't.
Sorry, let's be a bit nicer about this
Please can you help me by providing a step-by-step guide as I can not see how you can search for K.H.'s that serve just one congregation - thanks!
Oh wait!... is it the same method as you used to get the 35 K.H.'s in your opening post?... because I don't think that method works... see my above post/list

Hey The Searcher!
Hmmm, I'm kinda still gonna call you out.....
From The Searchers opening post at the start of this thread:
According to the org's website, various congregations will be moving in with other congregations, effective January 1st 2017.
I asked for a link, but none was provided by The Searcher, I can't find anything myself - sorry to disappoint, but I suspect it never existed in the first place
In all probability, their own K.H. is/has been sold. Here is a list of London K.H.'s still in existence. A few have 3 or 4 congregations using them. Many have only one.
Really? 'many have only one'? Really? only 'a few have 3 or 4 congregations using them? Really?? - sorry to disappoint, but this appears to be a complete untruth.
The Searcher listed 35 kingdom hall addresses - I understand that 9 of them are double halls and 2 of them are triple halls* - so that's 47 auditorium in total
Those 47 auditoriums are used by - wait for it - 166 congregations... so that's an average of 3.5 congregations per auditorium/hall - oh dear!
As I said, sorry to disappoint - but funnily enough that's effectively the complete REVERSE of what The Searcher said - hmmmm
