Did anyone else go to this weeks midweek meeting?

in the congregation bible study, the book addressed how "truth" is progressive.... 18 just as jehovah progressively revealed truths about the kingdom in the period leading up to 1914, he continues to do so during the time of the end.

as chapters 4 and 5 of this book will show, over the past 100 years, god’s people have had to adjust their understanding on a number of occasions.

does that fact mean that they do not have jehovah’s backing?

Hillary Clinton Winning total vote count but loses the Election

do those of you outside the usa find it odd that in a presidential election, the total number of people casting votes means nothing?

there is a method we use here called the electoral college based on each state rather than the total votes cast by actual people.. this is, i believe the 5th time in america's history that the person with the most votes lost the election (the last was in 2000 when al gore beat george w. bush by about 400,000 votes but lost the election).. so hillary (at the moment i last checked) had overall about 200,000 more votes nationwide but lost.. i'm sure a lot of people in other countries scratch their heads when they see this happening.. rub a dub.

Not really, because that's what happens when distilling millions of votes.

It's exasperated in the US by having a 'winner-take-all' in each state, particular when, due to the high population, they have a high number of college votes like California and Florida.

What is odd is that in the Primaries, many States DON'T do a 'winner-takes-all' but do some kind of division depending on how many votes each candidate got - but then they don't do the same for the actual Presidential Election

some of the articles i've read, warwick city administrators claim their city is like 30% exempt due to a heavy presence of religious groups who are moving to the area.

now i am watching the show "the path" and they too are in upstate ny.

The task at hand is to transform the former International Paper Company facility at Tuxedo into a construction staging area for the world headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses, which will be built a few miles down the road, technically in the town of Warwick. Questions From Readers: If a person has dedicated himself to Jehovah but arrives at the assembly late and does not hear the baptism talk and does not answer publicly the two questions there propounded, what should be done if this latecomer is immersed anyway?
If one arrives late for the discourse and does not answer the two questions, he may still have made an actual dedication of himself to Jehovah through Christ on the proper basis as is set forth in the two questions propounded to the baptism candidates. By his water baptism he has gone on record as having dedicated himself to God with a proper understanding of all that is involved therein, as comprehended in the two questions asked of the immersion candidates. However, such a one may not have satisfied the local service committee in this regard. Hence, before they enter the record of his water baptism upon his publisher’s report card they should assure themselves on this matter. In other words, they should call him before them and ask these questions and have them audibly answered in their presence. If the brother gives both answers in the affirmative, then the service committee will know that his understanding was proper at the time of his baptism and that it is valid. The committee may then conscientiously make a record of his water baptism as being binding and acceptable before Jehovah’s organization. But why be late at such an important occasion?
