hazel grove congregation in stockport, cheshire, u.k.. not only is the congregation saturated with elders, it is/was pretty well saturated with cash - according to its 2014 financial statement to the charities commission.
http://apps.charitycommission.gov.uk/accounts/ends82/0001066282_ac_20140331_e_c.pdf.
its elders are listed as frank broadhurst, nick ashton, nigel bailey, noel crossley, peter davies.
Looks like they've recently sold their own KH and moved in with the Stockport Central Congregation, whose KH seems to have had a significant extension built in 2013
Oh, and London Mill Hill with 19 elders - though that might be a bit unfair.
well how's it going round your way?
massive increase of interested ones?
did you even know it was supposed to be happening?
Hey OnTheWayOut!

Hi steve2!
I thought they stopped putting attendances on noticeboards decades ago. Are they now doing it again?
Depends on congregation, some do, some don't - but having it on the notice means it's more likely to be remembered to be actully done
Loved their recording how many are listening "online"!
Remember that those listening 'live' are counted as part of the meeting attendance, whereas those listening later via a recording, are not.
May 25, 2015: Re: Guidelines for Congregation Meeting Conferencing Systems
Attendants should record as meeting attenders the number of those tied in to the live meeting. Those benefiting from delayed streaming or recordings would not be counted.

Cheese — Are You a Connoisseur?
“A little cheese before dessert?” inquires our hostess, presenting an appetizing, well-stocked cheese board. Yes, here in France, a meal “according to the rules” should always include cheese.
In France the average consumption of cheese is 18 kilograms (40 lb) per person per year—a world record. There are many varieties to choose from. In fact, some say that a person living in France could, theoretically, eat a different cheese every day of the year!
Have you ever wondered how such a variety of colors, aromas, and flavors can come from such a relatively neutral-tasting product as milk? There are three main steps: coagulating, draining, and curing. Let us talk first about coagulating.

Cheese — What Gives It That Flavor?
You may have enjoyed a glass of milk with your breakfast this morning. But where is it now? What’s happened to it?
The glass of milk has triggered a fascinating reaction within your digestive system. Did you know that your stomach responds to milk in a way that nearly parallels the steps followed in making cheese? In fact, cheesemaking is really an artificial digestion, an outright imitation of what takes place within the stomach of milk-drinking persons and animals.

Cheese Around the World
Thirty-five hundred years ago the three oldest sons of Jesse were fighting in the Israelite army and their father sent their young brother David with supplies for them, including 'ten cheeses'.
i went to field service group once and the young elder taking the group was wearing a hat and said the prayer with a hat on.
i informed him later that you are not meant to have head covering, he said he was unaware of such things.

Hi pale.emperor
I was told only yesterday that the elder in charge of the accounts has lost a few £££ here and a few £££ there due to having absolutely zero experience in handling finances. A sister who has been a qualified accountant for 30 years and has many many companies as her clients offered to help... what do you think happened? She was told of course she cant help, she's a sister. Only men can do the accounts.
It boggles the mind.
Why not?
It can be quite in order according to the WT - and it's interesting you say that an elder is doing it already, rather than a ministerial servant as would normally be expected.
And, if the guys continue do the public facing collection of monies from the contribution boxes, then the accounts is one of the easiest jobs to basically hand over to a sister to do.
A word of warning to those apparently used to doing accounts, the WT's way is weird, totally weird - so actually they're not always the best to choose
SIsters would often do the congregation's three-monthly audit anyway, no problem with that.

Ministerial Servants Render Valuable Service
One ministerial servant may be assigned to care for the literature so that we can obtain it for personal use and for the field ministry. Another may care for the magazines. Others are assigned to keep congregation accounts or territory records.
[snip]
If brothers are not available, an exemplary sister could be asked to assist with some things, even though she would not, of course, be appointed as a ministerial servant. An individual who is exemplary is someone whose conduct and worship are considered worthy of imitation. His or her meeting attendance, share in the ministry, family life, choices of entertainment, dress and grooming, and so forth are good examples for others.

It's from Paul's letter to the Corinthian congregation
1 Corinthians 11: 1 - 10
Become imitators of me, just as I am of Christ.
I commend you because in all things you remember me and you are holding fast the traditions just as I handed them on to you. But I want you to know that the head of every man is the Christ; in turn, the head of a woman is the man; in turn, the head of the Christ is God. Every man who prays or prophesies with something on his head shames his head; but every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered shames her head, for it is one and the same as if she were a woman with a shaved head. For if a woman does not cover herself, she should have her hair cut off; but if it is disgraceful for a woman to have her hair cut off or shaved, she should be covered.
For a man should not have his head covered, as he is God’s image and glory, but the woman is man’s glory. For man did not come from woman, but woman came from man. And what is more, man was not created for the sake of the woman, but woman for the sake of the man. That is why the woman ought to have a sign of authority on her head, because of the angels.
This seems to be the most indepth discussion re:men wearing hats
Also makes an interesting distinction between public and private prayers
Watchtower 15 February 1977, pages 125 to 128
Should You Cover Your Head During Prayer?
It was a cold, windy day when the friends of the deceased widow stood in the snow around the open grave. The balding minister offered some brief, comforting words and then prayed.
Had you been there, would you have felt that during the prayer all present should remove anything covering their heads? The question might be especially pertinent in such wintry weather. But, really, do you feel that whenever you pray you should uncover your head? Or, might you believe that during prayer you definitely should have your head covered?

Hi joe134cd!
This video was made by a Philipino cult called iglasea ni christo. The are very similar to jws. The founder of the religion was heavily influenced by the doctrines and practices of SDA & JW.
Yeah, they're interesting - non-trinitarian, and don't eat blood.
