by atheist_R_stupid inand joined your ranks.... this means...youre talking about a people, that currently are pushing no sex till marriage.
that would end and join into the messages you currently push regarding youths and sex.

YAWEHLAND - Imagine a country where Jehovah's Witnesses are the majority
by EdenOne inin 2018, cyprus goes bankrupt (again).
many of its inhabitants, lacking jobs and prospectives of a better future, emigrate to more prosperous countries.

I'm glad my children don't have to grow up being afraid of cupcakes
by Ilovebirthdays inyesterday, i brought a batch of cupcakes to my son's school.
in passing them out, i started to give one to one of the children, who was a jw.
he immediately started freaking out and screaming "no thank you" over and over.

This reminded me of an incident when I was 13 or so.
On our way to our Assembly, we stopped at my nonJW 's house for a couple of days to visit. Some how they discovered that it was my sister's birthday that day.
When we arrived, they greeted us with a lit birthday cake and preceded to sing happy birthday.
We were frozen in shock. We had no clue how to handle it. My Aunt was beaming with pleasure anticipating our delighted reaction to their surprise.
My mom was always pretty cool about things. We gave her a "now what?" look.
She smiled graciously and thanked them for their thoughtfulness. We had our first birthday cake ever. But I remember that paralyzing feeling when we saw that cake. Mom later explained to them about birthdays but she told us there was no reason to waste the cake..lol. like I said a cool mom.

LisaRose: the first thing I thought of was a bEthel/watchtower farm model.
it would be considered a privilege to be invited to live there. The whole purpose would be to continue the kingdom work. The main r&f jws would not invited to live there... just a big country sized Bethel.
Maybe they would turn it into a JW tourist destination. They would have all of their major trainings there. They could broadcast from there to all the KH of the world.
Make it exclusive and a privilege to be earned.

Q-tips and Coffee Filters helped me learn TTATT
by RedPillPopper inwell they didn't fully teach me ttatt but helped me on the way.............. first thing i do in the morning after waking up is grinding some nice coffee beans and getting the brew started while i take a hot shower.
after the shower i like to clean out all the nasty wax out of my ears with a q-tip (or cotton swab for those not familiar with that term).. while cleaning out my ears i would think about how nice it is we have things like q-tips and coffee filters that make life more enjoyable but at the same time realize that somebody somewhere is in a factory making these.. i can't imagine a child saying "when i grow up i want to work in a factory making coffee filters".
the people who end up really doing that as adults did not set that to be a life goal.

I missed this thread last month. I just wanted to say I enjoyed your OP and your unique perspective. I am looking forward to more of your posts.
The illustrations of paradise always showed a simple life. No tips or coffee filter in sight.lol.. I always assumed we would each be self-sufficient and have self sustainable communities.
I used to wonder what would happen after the earth and was filled. No more children? My fantasy solution was the perfect brains would figure space flight and we would be inhabiting other planets.

Stuckinarut 2: personally some of those examples: David, Peter, used to comfort me and make me view god as loving & forgiving.
When I would get to feeling bad about my short comings, and i would think about David and how God forgave him because he knew his heart. I would say to myself: at least I didnt kill anyone.
So I don't know if considering those examples actually call Gods love into question but maybe highlights his mercy.
These examples might make a great argument against shunning and for being more merciful.
OTWO: Re:Moses... now THAT example
did make me question God's love and fairness. I always felt it was unfair for Moses not to get into the promised land after everything he had to put up with.
All the comfort I got from David was wiped away by Moses. Lol.
It makes sense now that I have realised these are just stories.
PS. Add Jonah to the list. Even after he got swallowed and spit out, he acted like a baby and sulked because the Ninivites werent destroyed.

Hi. I think it is way to long I would suggest picking one issue to bring up. Perferably one she might be open to.
Other wise she will probably stop reading or shut down.
just my 2cents.

Awesome movie: "THE GIVER". This is a MUST WATCH for witnesses and those breaking free from the WT!!!
by stuckinarut2 inyou have to watch the movie "the giver"!
it is simply an awesome movie for every thinking witness, or those trying to break free from the org's hold on us.. i wont give away too much, but the concept of the film is mind blowing!
utopia vs reality etc... conformity vs individuality and humanity... etc.

one last step..Is being mentally out the same as being emotionally out?
by MissFit inwe talk here about the importance of being mentally and physically out to be really free.. what about being emotionally free?.
i realized for me, i had to be emotionally awake first.
i had been yo-young back and forth for years.

Hi Cappytan. Thanks for responding.
Hang in there. You have plenty of time to discover and investigate. There will always be some emotional tie to loved ones.
I think some people are so emotionally invested that they will stay even if they no longer believe the teachings.

What I Saw & Heard in the Oral Argument Hearing on January 14, 2015
by ABibleStudent inim not an attorney and i could not record the hearing, so please forgive me if i make mistakes in relating what i remember of the oral argument hearing for jane doe (i.e., candace conti) versus the watchtower bible & tract society on january 14, 2015 and the length of this post.. i arrived at the civic center/union plaza in san francisco, ca about 7:30. the area is very nice with a few homeless people sleeping in the park across from the courthouse.
it took me about 10 minutes to find the clerks office for the court on the first floor, which opened at 8:00.. once the clerks office opened, the two clerks who i talked with were very polite and helpful.
the arguments for jane doe (i.e., candace conti) versus the watchtower bible & tract society were scheduled 5th out of (i think) 8. while i was in the office a cameraman and another person for nbc arrived asking about the hearing for candace contis case.. the courtroom for the 1st appellate court is on the 4th floor and takes up most of that floor.
