I was looking at the comparison pictures. What really struck me was the top picture was what normal people do. They are demonizing normal , activities. Where was the sin?

The sin was going against their counsel. (Bad association)

No wonder most JWs are socially inept.

Moving out after the borg

i was delighted to hear of adjustments news, but it did remind me of what i'm sure a lot go through when they leave, here's a little of my story:.

when i married as a jw, and when we moved there was always a team of willing volunteers happy to drive the van or move the furniture or decorate.

additonally when you get married you have a list of items people want to buy for you, even if some had odd taste we received lots of needed and wanted items, sometimes 2 or 3 of the same type.. as a da'd person, also seperated from my spouse i needed to move home.

doesn't have to be for anyone around you, or have anything to do with jw world.

just something that you do for you and only you and that fills your soul (whatever that means).

...as we were enjoying our weekly sunday "no meetings margaritas.. my friend and i have been meeting for lunch and margaritas ( okay mostly margaritas, we throw lunch in so we dont feel like alcoholics lol ??).

instead of going to meetings.. ( we discovered we could have lunch*margaritas* without the meeting first.).

my jw lady friend still goes out "in service" and stays in touch with her "service buddies" who also know me.. so she was telling me that they asked about me and mentioned that they would like to stop by to see me.

Thanks. I always get this dread in the pit of my stomach when I haven't heard from her. Life is so short and precious, she doesnt have much of it left.

I'm trying to prepare myself . She may surprise me and out live me, who knows.

Morning Witness - Sowing the Seeds

so i walked past a couple of young witnesses on the way to dropping my son off this morning and they were still there at the station when i came back to catch the train.

seeing them made me feel sad and think about all the stories of regret here on jwn so i figured what the hell i'll tell them.

so i approached them and asked how old they were.

I dont think anyone appreciates being told they are wasting their lives. Maybe later on when they are alone they will think about what you said.

Snare: I prefer the written word myself.

I've watched some video testimonials and to be frank the personalities sometimes turned me off.

Is there going to be an editing process or are you going to show the videos as is?

Consider the "outcome" when elders apply the two-witness "rule"

jehovahs witnesses two-witness rule is applied by elders when a witness member accuses another member of a sin, even if that sin is a criminal act.

if there arent two witnesses to the accusation, it goes nowhere, including not being reported to the authorities.

and in the case of an allegation of child abuse, the accused is free to molest again.. watchtower attorney, jim mccabe, recently stated this about jehovahs witnesses two-witness rule which he described as a bible-based belief :.

The 2 witness rule is out dated and reckless.

I am a little puzzled though. It sounds like several of these kids were abused together. That would have been more than 1 witness wouldn't it? So why didnt the elders investigate?

I know when I came forward, my 2 other sisters backed me up. But the elders did not report it. They did delete him as an elder.
