  Is my purpose to help, fail and suffer?

  hi folks im coming from far for many, for some maybe bit near.

  life has been thought.

  even though i'm only 27 pain and problems has been around since my first days.

  Welcome lonelyone, WOW, only 27. I am sorry your life has been nothing but pain so far.  It really is hard watch  someone you care about struggle.

  I had a hard time understanding your post. I know English must not be your first language.  

  I can tell you are very concerned about your friend and you have limited options.  

  I think you need more practicable advice than trusting in God's healing.

  Hopfully your friend can get professional help to realize life is worth living. Rebel is right- give your friend a listening ear but go  easy  on the God stuff.

  If he was a JW then, he no doubt feels unworthy of God in this life and may think if he kills himself he will wake up in paradise.

  Hi Julia, wow. I checked out some of your paintings. You are very talented.  

  Maybe the reason you did not do great at your other job is that your heart isn't in it.  Your passion is art.  My wish for you is that you can some how make a living doing something you love.

  Your art is worthwhile, and a noble legitimate pursuit,  not just a hobby.  

  Good for you for actively getting help.  The world will be a poorer place without your artistry.  Your work deserves a spot light.

  got myself in at age 13. one day i saw a leaflet on my door about babylon the great condemned by god and thats all it took.

  i mailed a letter to the congregation listed on the flyer requesting a book study.

  Grandpa died, they didn't say anything

  hey guys.

  my grandpa died recently, for a reason i told my jw friends about it.

  and they literally didn't say anything about it at moved on to another subject like nothing happened.

  Sir Cid, I am sorry I just saw this thread about your grandpa.  You have my deepest sympathies.  Were you very close? I never met either of mine.  I hope you have some nice memories. Feel free to share them if It isn't too painful.

  About your JW friends, I agree with Gone, your friends were being respeaceful by not preaching to you.  They are socially awkward.

  Feel free to ask us anything that confuses you about them. You will get honest answers here,  not the party line.

  If you don't believe in God where do you get the strength to cope?

  i know there are some here that are going through some tough times.

  some of you do not believe in god.

  some are not sure.. i was told recently by a friend to pray to god for help and he would comfort me.. my first impulse is to pray.

  Welcome Violias, thank you for responding. I am sorry you had unhappy experiences with your mother.  My sisters were always bitter about my mom not keeping us.  I always felt she let us go out of love.

  Unfortunately,  the couple she entrusted us with turned out to be abusive. The foster dad sexually abused my sister for years until I found out and helped her come foreward.

  I am glad you have found a path that is satisfying to you.

   I updated this thread because I want to keep a record for me as I document my journey.  It is interesting to look back and see how my perspectives have changed since I have distanced myself from the ORG.

  JW TV is the reason for the hysteria in the KH

  if you, like me, have noticed the sudden increase in hysteria in the khs right now, i put it down to that jw tv site.

  its's far more extensive than i thought it was, i thought it was just 1, 1 hour program a month.

  there's a s*** load of videos on that site.. and the real problem, from just watching a clip from each video, is that these guys are clearly "mentally unstable".

  UFCFFan welcome: we are here if you need to vent. Smiddy is right, if you are under age and depending on  your parents, grit your teeth and and comply out of respect for them.

   There are many adults here that are going through the motions and complying because they don't want to lose their spouse or family.  

  So even as adults we are sometimes forced into doing things we dont like to keep the peace.

  Use this time now to make a plan for a non JW future if that is what you want.

  Many here can give you great advice.

  Why don't you start a thread about yourself and your struggle and frustrations?

  Just remember you still need to respect your folks but you can practice thinking for yourself. 

  Ps what do your folks think of the broadcast?

  Hello all, 

  I  was feeling a little down and reread this thread.

  I would like to thank again everyone who helped me through my dark time.

  I got so many useful and thoughtful suggestions and support. 

  As I reread my posts, I can see I have progressed and grown in many ways.

  I am still on a journey of discovery, but now I know I have time to stop and smell the roses along the way and just"be" . 

  I hope others might benifet from some of the thought provoking comments and suggestions here.   

  Please feel free to add your experiences and view points.

  I have no Real Friends!

  i have no real friends!.

  i have always been extremely active in every aspect of the org, since childhood.

  @Joel: me too.  I never was close to anyone except my childhood friend. And the her husband became a MS and I had to take a number to talk to her a meetings.

  She once told me she wanted me to come to meetings because she missed me and needed me.  I thought to myself: You know how to reach me.
