  can someone post a link to the letter to elders about cancelling the kingdom hall mortgage but instituting a never-ending donation of a "similar" amount?.

  i've been searching the forum, but my google-fu is weak this morning!

  How many child abuse cases?

  does anyone know where i can find numbers of how many child abuse cases have been brought against jws or settled out of court?.

  i know that 1 is too many and statistics don't reflect the horror suffered, but i would like some numbers to use when explaining to others the reasons for my decreased activity and to have support for my reasons for 'stumbling', facts which might make others think too.. im from uk so it helps that the charities commission is investigating there and also there's a paedophiles exposed website which names 32 jws convicted in uk since 2012, horrifying!

  Oh this could cause all sorts of trouble. I can't imagine the organisation imploding from within or a mass awakening, but if it loses its charity status and has to start paying taxes in the UK I could see Head Office abandoning the UK. That would be pretty awesome!

  i worked a different shift.

  i knew the people i worked with, but not as well as i could have.. anyway, religion comes up.

  one guy mentions in front of another that i wrote a book about my religious experience.

  I am starting to think atheists have stronger morals than the bible thumpers. At least an atheist has thought his or her standards through and has real convictions. Religious people are a moving target for fear and guilt. Can't bet on those emotions being consistent.

  Strictly speaking Some atheists have stronger morals than Some bible thumpers. :) Some atheists are dicks and some theists are lovely.

  I agree with you that atheists have an advantage though. It seems better to me to behave morally because you believe it to be right rather than because you fear punishment from a deity.

  i've noted active, devoted jw's state the above.. and, it's not a problem for me to remain trusting of god, i just don't trust religions or men.. recently, a member of this forum stated that he remains an active jw, in the family of god's people, wanting to encourage and do good - whilst recognising that the pastoral leaders (the gb) have shipwrecked the faith of many, being unsound scripturally etc, etc.. stop and think about this - the bible says to not follow after those who lie and hurt the faith of "little ones".. the pharisees were accused of traversing over lands and expending much energy to make a single convert - only for that convert to end up worse of than he started off with.. it's one thing to not believe this is the 'truth' and feeling the awful pressure of managing ones life, trying not to lose ones family.. it's quite another thing to declare oneself to be a christian believer of god's jw household, and somehow believe the god of love would use corrupt liars to parade as jesus' brothers in the urgency of last days.

  really?

  and, to then visibly promote faith in corrupt men, and try to bring converts into a place where the rulership is wrong.. some of us are dying from hurt here.......give me a break..

  I never saw a dino at the British Museum , it is full of human history. Congs would arrange visits & there was a group of pioneers who (I think counted their time) and took parties round .. The museum descriptions say that Jerusalem fell in 587 BCE , the guide said 607 BCE . I totally believed our guide and marvelled how "the world" could be so wrong so often......

  I went on those tours a few times when I was young. I used to be really excited about going... because there was an amazing comic book shop over the road from the museum entrance. Actually, now I come to think about it, going to Cardiff Assembly was exciting because there was a Forbidden Planet comic store just round the corner from the stadium! Since leaving the JW's I haven't been in a Comic book store, but there's the internet and Amazon now of course!

  for about a week now, i've noticed that whatever ads you are allowing on this site are basically "hijacking" any attempt to read threads.

  well, the side "ad" thing plays video advertisements, but that's not the problem.

  so i'm catching up on r rated movies that i missed when i was younger.

  " was on the el rey network the other day so decided to watch it.. it was kind of eerie watching this being a fader.. here's a guy living under a controlling regime of elites and only he can see the control measures for what they are.

  i am one of those viet nam war felons who had to refuse community service in lieu of military induction per direct instructions of wbts.

  my mother was from a old time jw family in the calif. bay area the "garigs".
