Descender,
I like that look on men too. Much better than wings.
Me...I go to an electroligist once every month or so. Or have my brother-in-law do threading (it's a new hair removal technique) LOL

now i've been around the borg for quite a long time (not recently thanks god).
but one thing i could never understand was the borg's rule for hair on men.
i think the borg's simple minds are just too limited for this world.. i only know of two brothers who i ever saw wear a beard.

I was just wondering how many of you fellas have lost the clean shaved look and grown a beard. Or have let your hair grow out since leaving the borg?

what a night trying to get home from the west villiage to west harlem.
it was very hot and very dark, not to mention very scary.
i have never seen the city so dark and eerie.
Hey Chachasmum,
I am wondering why so many have viewed your post but, haven't responded!
Well, I have a response...
I know that you walked some 50 blocks that day, hung on to a crowded bus, got a BLACK cabbie that wouldn't take you to HARLEM, then finally got a good samaritan to take you up to Harlem for $10, and once you got home you fell down the stairs and nearly broke your ankle...
...You are an angel watching over other peoples most precious possessions, their lovable, furry pets and someone was watching over you that night!!! He knew you could NOT break your ankle that night because you had to get back up at 6AM and get back down to the village and take care of ChaCha and Lucy and the gang.
Keep on keepin on!

I only know of two brothers who I ever saw wear a beard. One brother was never given privileges because he wore a beard. He was a nice person, married to an elder's daughter and had two lovely children in good standing. I can understand why he started wearing a beard...he was going a little bald and I guess he wanted to keep as much hair as possible and besides that, he looked very nice with his beard and kept it well groomed.
Another brother, some of you may know him, Big Jay McKneely, he is a famous saxaphone-jazz musician. He wore a beard and happened to be an elder. He was allowed to wear his beard because his skin was very sensitive and shaving didn't cut it. The beard gave him style and a certain look.
I also don't understand why boys and men can't have long hair. Some men just look better with longer hair. And some men like the American Indians, Muslims, and other cultures wear long hair with great dignity due to their beliefs.
My neighbor has a little boy and he is the cutest thing. She kept his hair a little long because he has naturally curly hair and his hair looks natural for him.
I also saw a little boy who looked mexican-spanish and his hair was cut very short and it was sticking up like it wasn't supposed to. Anyway I wonder if his natural hair is supposed to be longer.
Ahh, but the borg allows men to wear a mustache, so that they exercise control over the men and make everyone look like some member of some sort of Saddam Hussein cult.
Anyway, that's my hairless dude beef burden of the day
eisenstein...gone to make a smiley face with a mustache!!!

hi everyone, i'm new here as of today!
well, having some issues and thought that you all might be gracious enough to offer some insight.
i am a lesbian, have come out to a few friends.
Welcome Leslane!!!
It is rare to see someone so young who knows who and what they are about and what they want to do with their life. If I can give you any advise it is to get involved in a support group in your area like the org Emma mentions. I don't recommend getting baptized with the way you are feeling, you would be living a lie and never be able to live up to the expectations of the demands of the organization. I didn't realize I was gay until I had already been baptized and my coming out had tragic consequences, physically and emotionally...there was no one to confide in and understand and if I would have been able to do it differently I would have walked away from the "truth" at that time and not try to live a lie and I would have gotten into a support group or therapy to help deal with all of the guilt and shame I was feeling from all of the brainwashing, etc. This forum is a very good source for support also, so welcome and I hope that whatever you decide you will live up to your own truth!!!

i was just reflecting back to september 11th 2001, wondering about all those folks that lost people dear to them.
remebering for myself the utter most disbelief at what i was seeing 3 miles down the road.
i remember getting stuck at times square as the subway system shut down.i remember the day and the day after at the hush that came over the city.
Well it's not exactly the second anniversary yet, but around this time of year I do start to get nostalgic in a sad way of that horrible day. They have changed the flight patterns of certain air traffic going into La Guardia here in New York and the planes fly right over the North of Manhattan, and so I can hear the planes going over head and I see them a lot when I am going to and from the subway or out shopping and I can't help but think of that day.
I actually was awaken from sleep by a phone call from Chachasmum (I was working second shift at the time) and was told to turn on the TV to find both of the Twin Towers burning. I was in total shock. My first simple thought was "how are they going to get up there to fix the tops of the buildings". My sister actually saw the buildings burning downtown from the building we work in. She was working first shift that day. She was actually able to catch one of the last subway trains coming from downtown. She made it to my door just as the first tower came down. She has a serious heart and lung condition, so I know she wouldn't have been able to take the smoke when the towers came down. I don't know what I would have done if I would have been down there that day, I had nightmares as it was just seeing it on TV. I actually had worked for over a year in World Trade Center #7 which later burned down that evening.
You're right the silence was deafening here in the city, people seemed to be walking around the next few days in a daze. I didn't lose anyone I know personally so I feel very fortunate. But I consider each and every person who died in that horrible ordeal including DC and Pennsylvania to be martyrs and they will be on my mind forever and I hope they are in a safe place away from the wickedness they endured.
I know you, Chachasmum, had to be right in the midst of all the chaos due to your work so I know it affected you more than me, like I said I don't know what I would have done if I would have been in the midst of all the chaos.
It was around September of last year that we found this website. So it has a twofold meaning for me. A good one for finding Freeminds and a sad one for losing so many people on September 11.

i heard about this on the news earlier, i only caught the tail end of the report.
what i dont understand is why she did it.
why she was only charged with child endangerment and not attempted murder?

These stories are heartbreaking, I can't imagine looking back on my life to have been kicked out at such an early age. Although, my life had it's own tragedies. I cannot believe that the advise given by the society was to kick a son or daughter out of the house for whatever reason. At that tender age you need your parents more than ever, you need strong role models, a support system, etc. And until you are 18 (21 in some states), you are your parents responsibility.
My older sister was told to leave the house by our JW stepfather whom our mother had just married. She was only 17 or 18, she had a two year old daughter at the time and no where to go. She lived with her "street friends" as she called them who treated her better than her own family. My mother to this day regrets agreeing with him and wishes she would have kicked him out instead.
