  it is enthralling having everything being dragged kicking and screaming into the light of day.

  however one of the most important things to ask is this:.

  is the rc evidence admissable in other countries and other courts?.

  That statement by WT is two edged. Imagine a little girl of eight trying to find the right words to explain what she has gone through. Imagine how easy it would be for "elders" to disclaim her or his statements.

  And if her father is the abuser? Or her mother? Again, if some adult assisted, there would be leeway for the elders to refute this child's statement and claim she was lead to say things by the person assisting her/him. It is full of holes and is worth pointing out to the Commission.

  monica applewhite, a clinical social worker and an expert on child sexual abuse, testified for defendants that watchtowers policy against disclosing private information .

  very closely mirror[ed] the codes of ethics of the national association of social workers and the american counseling association.

  You could email it straight to the Royal Commission web site. You could all do something like that. In a respectful manner of course. There is a great need to show "less anger or outrage" than is allowed between discussions here.

  Just send a bulk set of signatures and say you are "concerned" about this woman. Also, you could let the commission know that you are concerned about the use of Theocratic Warfare ie lying that is supported when JWs decide it's getting too hard.

  Actually, you have started a great idea. If you members sent a signed petition via electronic means..........to Australian Royal Commission, attention to Stewart or His Honour. It would be a powerful message of concern. Think about it, but not for too long. Perhaps, I should start a thread. I am in Australia and to some degree, am involved in this commission.

  i am shocked that an expert would simply examine only the literature given to her by the organisation she was defending and simply accept it.

  also the ease she has in making huge sweeping statements when comparing the jw's to all other international religious organisations simply undermines her professionalism.. i am also thoroughly shocked at her blatant, 'expert for hire', 'will defend anyone' apparent decision making, the organisation is responsible for covering up thousands of abuse victims by its own records, in australia alone!

  never mind their judicial process being heartless and traumatic!.

  The WT think that Australia is such an insignificant part of their population. I mean 70,000 maximum. They did not count on the fact that this commission has been in preparation since 2013. Gathering evidence, subpoenaing WT documents and letters, perusing and using the Elders hand book. They did not expect these men to have WT speak and knowledge at their disposal.

  My own sister, a horrid woman and devout hypocrite was furious that they even had the bloody book!! How dare they she says with spittle flying in all directions and a crazed look in the eyes. Well my dear JW freak of a sis,..........."They just did because they can".

  Some on this site may have initially thought that Stewart may have been sort of weak, but he was not. He was thorough and calm and undaunted by any reaction of the elders. He was empathetic to the victims but had to maintain focus. The last thing the commission will do is get all emotional ........angry if you like. The plight of the victims and the terrible disregard of WT to it's women and children was the prominent feature in disclosing WT practices and thus forcing those who were neglectful and denying any wrong doing, had to be done using the WT material. WT lawyers had no chance to approach or victimise those who had a factual account to tell.. Let this be a lesson in how not to under estimate your adversary........The Royal Commission.

  what i would love is if someone could put together a 20 minute highlight reel of the most damming parts.

  This Commission is also about establishing compensation to those who suffered abuse.

  It will be considered within a few months as there has been so much to do with other religious practices such as Catholic cover ups. Legislation is drawn up with these case studies. Decisions may be implemented quite quickly if the commission considers that nothing genuine is being done for today's children,

  There will be many court cases that emerge from this commission. Lawyers will have a wonderful time getting rich in their pursuit of claims for victims. Mainly, it will become somewhat politic to bring in across the board directives that will protect children. Now, at one stage JW religion was banned in Australia. And of course the Ozzy's love to recall that bit of history in their martyrdom. I would imagine that any religion that commences to revert back to their old ways..............will suffer where it hurts. Pocket.

  Poztate............very funny..........EXCEPT!! The whole Royal Commission is on utube for the entire world to look at. And no matter what WT says, there will be little JDubs who just want a little peep...........then another little peep. Oh hell, lets open every tab and have an avalanche of peeps. Whoops!

  They will have their tablets to sneak a look at this commission during boring talks and mind numbing assemblies. Assemblies here in Australia are done away with in the old sense now. Only lots of small ones churning out the usual crap. We're on a tight budget over hear, money is apparently as tight as Tony's pants.

  She also falls apart in the last thirty minutes, when god appointed WT lawyer steps in to make it easier for her.....By then, it seems all she wants to do is get away.

  This is my impression. I feel she may have done work and fairly good work in other ways for other organizations. When she came here though, it was a different experience. For one. The RC used/uses the WT documents to investigate it's own written policies, then there is the matter of being warned by His Honour that WT lawyer will not get away with trying to paint all other religions in a bad light. He states he is not interested in WT opinion of other institutions as it is not a contest. It's about WTBTS practices then and now.

  Miss Apple, was badly prepped due to the WTs over confidence in past wins. They were convinced that their meat in due season WT and Awakes, are just brilliant and life saving....

  MIss Apple is even too tired to contemplate the redirect questions of WT slime type lawyer. She is worn out at the thought that she may have to do more research at the behest of WT. A research that she say's........." I will have to check my calender...I won't be here " , in Australia of course. She does not smile with relief at WT scum bag type slime cretin lawyer, who is there to save the day........even if they kill her with over load in the process. They will use her up and it seems to dawn " on her face".

  She is so feddup with the whole thing, that I predict she will not be able to prepare all that WT lawyer wants her to present in two weeks, by hookup. She will be angry with these asshole lawyers for taking so much more than a pound of moral flesh out of her soul.

  His Honour is a seasoned "overseer" of Royal Commissions. I have seen him deal with some incredible situations in his presiding ness.............Terrrible writing sorry. I'm tired.

  He insists over and over, that WT will not be allowed to escape what they did in the past twenty years.......................I want him to marry me and while I'm at it,....I want Stewart too....

  his honour is being tested by wt lawyer in the last thirty minutes of day 4. the lawyer wants to bring in updates on the societies handling of child molestation cases.. his honour tells the lawyer that if he "lawyer" wants a contest between who is better than who....forget it.. his honour is slightly pissed off as wt lawyer just won't back down and insists that this evidence is very important and........"progressive" ( i think ) his honour then continues to tell nice wt jerk type lawyer, that if he thinks this will dispel all that happened to past victims..........think again.. i rough summary but fairly accurate people......god, that wt lawyer is a hateful lying, scheming son of a bitch........

  I'm inclined to believe it. I know how indignant they become. Then they become angry. Then they start wanting to lash out. Some do in a crude sort of "paint the home graffiti way", others like to threaten you with legal action for taking your place in the RC.

  I think it may be true.
