I can't speak for WLG, but I know I started out on this board for healing and research benefits. But much of my healing has been accomplished. So now I'm here for friendship and helping others. I think it's the natural process for recovering from the abuses we've experienced and/or witnessed. Much like "sponsors" in a 12-step program. The "old-timers" help the newbies with the things they've learned. And in the meantime, you strengthen friendships with those that you've met along the way.
