    ithinkisee,

The only secular history book my wife has is the Complete Works of Josephus. How can I get rid of Josephus as a reckoning force quickly and easily?

Please see Antiquities Book 10, chapter 11, 1-4 of link below: http://www.ccel.org/j/josephus/works/ant-10.htm

    Nebuchadnezzar - 43 years

    Evil-Merodach - 18 years

    Neriglissar - 40 years

    Labishi-Marduk - 9 months

    Nabonidus - 17 years

That's 118+ years if one examines the complete 'secular' chronology of Josephus for this period. You may need to gently remind her that when she refers to Josephus' chronology, it is secular as well.

Without secular chronology, one would not be able to come up with any dates for what happened in ancient history using the Bible alone.
Not exactly true. The bible does date, based on assension(sp?) years. These can be cross-referenced with the cuneiforms.

Not trying to argue, but doesn't that kinda prove what I'm saying? There are no actual dates in the Bible, except for listing of assension(sp?for me as well) years as you mentioned. But without the cuneiform tablets or other secular sources, we wouldn't know on what actual dates those occured, right?

And if you realy want to play the dates: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chronology_of_Babylonia_and_Assyria

I know what you saying. You are right that there are no Julian or Gregorian type dates in the bible, because they didnt exist back then. I suppose you could, in translation add the Gregorian date in parenthisis(sp? - I'm rubbish!) if you wanted to.

She has been using the 18 year reign of Evil Merodach as listed by Josephus as possibly part of the reason for the 20 year gap.

I've been looking for your updates every day. I don't have time to read hardly anything these days, but I'm on the edge of my seat as this drama unfolds. The 607 issue is why I left. Keep us posted and we're rootin' for ya!
