Don't forget, all of this is subject to interpretation by the local BOE. In Rocky's case, he was DF'd on the word of two - one was a JW, the other was not.
Rape, two witnesses, DNA, and rape kit

I envision the WTS saying that DNA evidence is unreliable, just like they say about carbon dating.
I was marked as bad association when I was raped, because I was raped within the city limits, in a drain tunnel by the city pool.
I'm sorry that happened to you, and your subsequent marking. I was wondering, what connection did the elders draw between the location of the crime and you being bad association? I'm guessing they claimed it was your fault for being in the wrong place at the wrong time? (Which would be a totally, totally WRONG thing for them to say.)

A brother once told me that a sister who wore a short skirt and got raped
would get disfellowshipped.
Compassionate, eh? -

I know exactly how you feel. I am still not over the way the elders treated me when I was raped. I am more emotionally damaged by my judicial meeting then by the rape itself. And I can't forgive my parents for contacting the elders in the first place. They called the elders and made sure they were at the hospital with me. One elder had the nerve to give me an awake mag. on rape at the hospital. They all made sure that I was not to be given the morning after pill, even though I really wanted it. Then a couple days later I had my judicial meeting, where I had to describe in detail exactly what happend, so the elders could determinne whether or not it was rape. F*cking sick bastards.

These stories get my blood boiling...
When I was around 12, our congo had a study, from the WT I think on Rape and what the responsibilities of the rape victim while the rape was in process.....I sat stunned in my chair as people raised their hands to comment, saying that women tempt men with their attire and that we should always be dressed modestly etc.... Then came the part where they tell you that if you don't scream it's consensual fornication.... I was like WTF? I turned to my mom and whispered that couldn't possibly be fair, what if they threatened your life if you screamed? Mom got pissed at me so she elbowed me then told me to shut up, because I was drawing attention to us. I continued to look angry and shake my head any time the speaker or a person made a stupid or insensetive remark.

I remember those talks. As a young teen, I used to secretly wish I could go on birth control pills so I wouldn't get DFd when I got raped. I say "when" because rape was talked about so much from the platform, and so was the JW persecution complex, I honestly thought all us females would eventually get raped! I thought Satan would ensure we all were victimized. How nutso is that?
Around the time the talks were coming out, I was reading some professional journals that said the opposite of what the jws were claiming. Strange reading for a child, I know. Anyways, I remember showing them to my mother and her shrugging her shoulders.
Later they said from the platform that it might be ok not to scream if the guy has a weapon, that Jehovah would know you were resisting in your heart. Of course, that's what they said publicly, but when it came right down to it, people were getting reproofed and DFd for being raped anyway.

Hello Pistoff,
In the one case I had to handle we never questioned the truth of the statement of rape but assumed it was true and focussed on the alleged victims obligation to scream and try to get away. Almost took judicial action against the victim for their passive resistence.
just2laws, how long ago was this?
I think that the Brooklyn braintrust has gone back to this direction, if the last WT on it is any indication.
That was about ten years ago but I'm not aware of their changing their policy. The JWs are true "fundamentalist" and "literalist". They are going by the Bible and interpreting it literally. What makes them worse than most fundamentalists is that their "Faithful Slave" concept allows them to add to the BS with 'new light' from God as they serve as the "Channel of communication".

If any of you lurking are active JW's, please -- please pose this question to one of your most trusted elders. He may have to get back to you with an answer. You have a right to know whether or not the Society recognizes this latest technology (used properly, of course). Yes, this involves the victim seeking assistance from law enforcement officials but that's what the "Superior Authorities" are there for.
My heart is aching for all of you victims who've had the courage to share your painful experience with us.

Men, keeping it a male-dominated environment where women and children have few or no rights.
Well speaking a man, I don't really appreciate such a broad, sweeping statement. That organization hurt me, and other men like me, just as much as it hurt women and children. Considering the topic is rape, and Jehovah's Witnesses stance toward it, I do hope you realize that anyone can be a victim of such a crime.
I think it does no one any good to demonize an entire group or even an entire gender based on the actions of a few, whether that be religion, politics or what have you. I find it sad that you feel the need to do so.

Just for the record, the Bible did not require two witnesses in the case of rape. In the following scripture, nothing is said about the woman who was raped "in the field" needing to supply two eyewitnesses to the act. If there was "no one to save her," then there were certainly no eyewitnesses:
Deu 22:23
"If there is a girl who is a virgin engaged to a man, and another man finds her in the city and lies with her, Deu 22:24 then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city and you shall stone them to death; the girl, because she did not cry out in the city, and the man, because he has violated his neighbor's wife. Thus you shall purge the evil from among you.Deu 22:25 "But if in the field the man finds the girl who is engaged, and the man forces her and lies with her, then only the man who lies with her shall die. Deu 22:26 "But you shall do nothing to the girl; there is no sin in the girl worthy of death, for just as a man rises against his neighbor and murders him, so is this case. Deu 22:27 "When he found her in the field, the engaged girl cried out, but there was no one to save her.
