different tournaments have different rules..usually set by the sponsers
in the world cup it is the number of wickets to have fallen
if that is the same then they count back to a certain point in the game and whichever side had most runs or lost least wickets at that point is declared winner
the england batmen had asked if they would win by losing less wickets but were told no the game would be a tie....which is why i dont understand why they didnt go for the 3rd run since after running 2 they couldnt be beat anyway and ozzies were fumbling the ball
