Shame about the rain!
Rain delays Old Trafford restart 7:36 PM August 13
Wet weather in Manchester has delayed the start of the third day of the Old Trafford Ashes Test this evening.
Rain fell overnight and again in the morning (local time), forcing ground staff to keep the covers on the pitch. At 7:15pm AEST, play was not expected to get underway for around three hours.
Weather forecasts suggest a dry afternoon in Manchester.
When play does get underway, Australia will resume at 7 for 210 in reply to England's 444, still needing 35 runs to avoiid the follow on.
Shane Warne is 45 not out and Jason Gillespie is on 4.Source: ABC

Hello and welcome to our coverage of the third day's play of this
third Ashes Test at Old Trafford
The news from Old Trafford is not particularly good if you are an
England fan.
Rain started just after 7am local time and there have been heavy
showers since then
The covers are on but the rain has stopped at the moment The ground staff are working extremely hard to get things ready
The head of the ground staff suggested that the field of play could
be got in decent shape within an hour of rain stopping
The good news is that it is not raining at the moment and that
Steve Bucknor and Billy Bowden are taking a walk around the field
of play and having a look at things
But the latest update is that it will be an hour or so before play
can get under way
All one can do is hope that there is no further rain in the
meantime. -

so 140 runs ahead..lost a day due to weather..england need a rip roaring couple of sessions and then declare 350 ahead with just over a day to bowl oz out..or for oz to get the runs
if theres anything we've learned from this series...its that anything is still possible
