I was just wondering what everyone's username meant. I have my own guesses (sixofnine, silentlambs, slayerlayer-I'm almost afraid :o), amazing-enough said!,mommy, fredhall-is that your name?, ozziepost-from downunder, and the list goes on!

Please share!! Unless of course this would give you away & you don't want anyone to know who you are.

I look forward to reading this!

    I'll start.

I just love this song by the Indigo Girls. When I was leaving the borg (fading away) it sort of became my mantra. I still get goose bumps when I hear it.

    Lyrics to "Closer to Fine"

I'm trying to tell you something about my life
Maybe give me insight between black and white
The best thing you ever done for me
Is to help me take my life less seriously
    It's only life after all
Well darkness has a hunger that's insatiable
And lightness has a call that's hard to hear
I wrap my fear around me like a blanket
I sailed my ship of safety till I sank it
    I'm crawling on your shore
I went to the doctor, I went to the mountains
I looked to the children, I drank from the fountains
There's more than one answer to these questions
Pointing me in a crooked line
The less I seek my source for some definitive
The closer I am to fine
The closer I am to fine

I went to see the doctor of philosophy
With a poster of Rasputin and a beard down to his knee
He never did marry or see a B-grade movie
He graded my performance, he said he could see through me
I spent four years prostrate to the higher mind, got my paper
    And I was free

I went to the doctor, I went to the mountains
I looked to the children, I drank from the fountains
There's more than one answer to these questions
Pointing me in a crooked line
The less I seek my source for some definitive
The closer I am to fine
The closer I am to fine

I stopped by the bar at 3 a.m.
To seek solace in a bottle or possibly a friend
I woke up with a headache like my head against a board
Twice as cloudy as I'd been the night before
And I went in seeking clarity.

I went to the doctor, I went to the mountains
I looked to the children, I drank from the fountains
We go to the doctor, we go to the mountains
We look to the children, we drink from the fountains
Yeah, we go to the bible, we go through the workout
We read up on revival and we stand up for the lookout
There's more than one answer to these questions
Pointing me in a crooked line
The less I seek my source for some definitive
The closer I am to fine
The closer I am to fine
The closer I am to fine

Well, first because I was an exhaust technician for a long time. It's something I'm proud of, being able to custom bend exhaust pipe so I decided on Bendrr. Plus I like the robot from the show 'Futurama'.
The spelling was just a custom bend.

    G'day closer2fine,

There was a similar thread started on July 23 by Englishman "Oh May We Ever Live Up To Our Chosen Name!". Check it out, you'll love it!

ozziepost started as a poster with a newspaper reporting style. The longer I stayed in this happening place, the more conversations I got involved in. Now I've got no style!

    Cheers,

My nic is pretty much JUST a nic, but it fits because I DJ p/t in a bar and many times I must go to get heavy draft kegs for the barmaids when they run out.

Mine was given me by a workmate who is famous for giving nicknames to people. It basically was meant to mean "You Doofball".

    Francois

Francois is merely the Frenchified version (pronounced Fran - swa) of my real name: Frank

Lots of my friends call me Fran-swa.

It was inspired by my spiritual transformation - tho I'm
still a work in progress. I believe the human race will
undergo a profound spiritual transformation as well in the next
    few decades.

Besides the connection with mysticism, I like my name
because some folks probably think I'm a Pokemon character
or Japanese anime robot (instead of an angel)

    Boozy,

I must go to get heavy draft kegs for the barmaids when they run out.

    They're heavy drinkers, eh?

    Cheers,
