    G'day all,

It's great to be able to do this again! I kinda thought we'd finish at #132 but... well, here we are again!

While I was lying in ICU I wasn't wasting time , oh no, I was consulting with the Writing Department all the way and so, here we go again!

Hope your week was fine. Mrs Ozzie, the poor soul, has had a very very strenuous couple of weeks but still she looks beautiful!

Now what shall we reminisce about this weekend? Well, there is something that must have intrigued you over the years, it's this:

Why are Society letters never signed?

    1. They're written by a committee.

    2. It takes so long to get them mailed he may have died.

    3. The Society have outsourced the letter writing.

    4. So that you can't approach them at the Kingdom Hall !

    5. The Society won't admit that sisters write their letters !

    6. So that you can't phone Bethel and ask to speak to their manager.

    7. They forgot!

    8. So that no-one can be held responsible.

    9. Dunno

    10. Other (please detail)

So there it is dear fellow posters. Let us know your thoughts and...................

    Enjoy!

    Cheers, Ozzie

Why are Society letters never signed?

    1. They're written by a committee.

That could be true. More likely they have form letters they use. Come to think about it, didn't Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, Peter, James, Jude sign their letters?

    2. It takes so long to get them mailed he may have died.

It takes so long because they're written by a committee and need to go through 30 approval levels before they can be mailed.

    3. The Society have outsourced the letter writing.

They do say that God speaks through them.

    5. The Society won't admit that sisters write their letters !

Actually, I have been in that area and only brothers supposedly see the letters that come in; even the receptionist is a man. But things may have changed.

    8. So that no-one can be held responsible.

Externally anyway. You can bet internally the brothers can be raked over the coals.

    10. A while back the WTS sent out a non-letter to the BOEs telling them that taking transfusion was a DAing offense now rather than a DFing. The elders were not allowed to touch the paper (non-letter) or make a copy for their files. Now that tops not signing the letter.

I'd say number 8, with a twist. It's not so that they can't be held responsible, it's that no ones wants to take resposiblity and own up to say they wrote that BS.

For the same reason they kept quiet about who wrote the NWT. They like to say they do it so that no one man recieves the credit.......in actuality it means so that no one man gets the blame when/if the poo poo hits the fan over particular policies/issues.

OZZIE! So good to see you back into the swing of things. You MUST be feeling better to be back to your weekend polls.

    5. The Society won't admit that sisters write their letters !

    6. So that you can't phone Bethel and ask to speak to their manager.

    8. So that no-one can be held responsible.

    10. Other (please detail)
Canned responses for most of their letters cut and pasted by the secretary's female secretary!

to answer the question, in my opinion:

    4. So that you can't approach them at the Kingdom Hall !

    possible as well:

    5. The Society won't admit that sisters write their letters !

    6. So that you can't phone Bethel and ask to speak to their manager.

    and most important:

    8. So that no-one can be held responsible.

and even more important : I am going to drink a glass of wine on your health....
