Hi Ozzie, nice to see you posting again.

    With Country Woman I'd say # 4,5,6 and 8.

Actually most Bethel responses to individual mail (not circulars) are (or at least were, 20 years ago) identified by initials in the references. These are not the initials of the writer's name, but a code for the function. The first letter indicates the department (according to the Branch Organisation repertory), the second one indicates the post in the dept. (A being the dept. overseer, etc.). So the writer can be identified from within Bethel, not outside Bethel.

    Blondie said:

didn't Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, Peter, James, Jude sign their letters?
Hmm... apparently Paul did... other people obviously signed "Paul, Peter, James, Jude"... and nobody ever signed "Matthew, Mark, Luke, John" (those names are given only in tradition and later manuscripts, they are not part of the text).

    WATCHTOWER BIBLE AND TRACT SOCIETY

    Dear Brothers,

Some have asked why we never sign any of our letters to you. Well to be honest, some former Bethelite down under is raising a rukus over the issue world wide via the internet.

Normally we would have ignored the question, waited for ten years, then white washed the question and posted a semblance of an answer in Questions from Readers in the Watchtower magaizine, but since this Austrailian apostate just survived a near miss appointment in hades, we now have to respond. You know how people with second chances can get.

Anyway as to letter signing; The judge actually started the trend. Having been used to dictating his letters with stenographers who could in shorthand record up to 120 words per minute.....not to mention type them as well, the judge became weary of personaly signing his huge volume of work. Since everyone knew that all written information came directly from him, it was really redundant for him to sign his name anyway

So in the interest of efficiency and productivity he issued everyone of his secretaries a stamp 'YOUR BROTHERS WATCHTOWER BIBLE AND TRACT SOCIETY'.

    Sincerely,

    Ted

It's so nice to see you back and polling again Ozzie.

Hope your week was fine. Mrs Ozzie, the poor soul, has had a very very strenuous couple of weeks but still she looks beautiful!

You are truly a gem. What a lovely thing to say about your wife.

I've no idea about your poll question this week. Just wanted to say hi!

    10. So Ozzie, with his independent apostate thinking would ask, "Why?".

    Welcuuuum Back!
