hi....when i saw your post i had to call my dad who is still active and was untill recently an elder told me there is NO basis for that in the WTBS pubiclations....BUT..some elders in some congertions...have tried to scare some inactive ones to get them back...yes its underhanded,,BUT some are just that way...they feel that by any means necessery.........also they CAN do that if you say to them that you dont eant to be a witness when they call....so dont say that to them....just be polite and tell them youd like to think about it....and dont ever tell them you dont....donald

It all depends on the elders in your sister congregation and the CO. Everything is in place to DA any one they concider a threat, Reguardless of what is in print the CO will instruct how the elders apply it or it could just be some overly zealous elders that use it the new procedure harshly.

I would causion your sister your sister to be very careful in what she says to the elders and never admit to any questioning to any of her views the the Org or GB not God's Organization. Lie to the bastards if you have to because they may be up to no good.

If the WTBTS = GB, DO, CO , Body of Elders they will find a way and use any excuse

I just don't think anyone cares where I am. I find it hard to believe that they would announce from the stage that I am no longer a JW. I promise that the entire congregation would say: "WHO??"

This would be the last congregation that I attended. If I was well known there, perhaps that would be a different story.

i have been trying to think of how they could justify doing this on someone who has been inactive for so long and the only possible explanation is if there is some directive to

1..endeavour to activate an inactive person at all costs..initially by sheperding(lol) and then by threatening..and then by announcing as da thereby ensuring family and friends shun and thus forcing the da one to take steps to seek reinstatement...the end justifies the means..the ends being that the individual is in line for armageddon survival..which would be fine!! if everything they did was based on this..ie the idea behind dfing is to shock the person into repentance but as has been said previously very little attempt is made to try and save someone at a jc hearing..and more often than not repentant wrongdoers (who dont need to be shocked into seeing the error of their ways) end up being df-ed anyway

2..stop active members of cong from associating with faded ones..it would appear from posters on this forum that inactive ones who are still having association with active jw family and friends are the ones being targetted for 'sheperding'..maybe it is felt that these faded ones..who have done nothing for which they could be df-ed for..are still a threat to an active jw and so measures will be taken to cut off that association..lets face it even if no announcement is made the fact that a fader has not responded to the loving efforts of a shepherd would allow for the shepherd to then encourage the family member or friend to reconsider whether they ought to be associating with that one..

That would affect those of us who still have believing wives. My experience so far has been that the elders dont give a damn about me. There does not seem to be a lot of "Shepherding" done around here. Certainly my wife has never had a call in years and has not said about any meaningful discussion with Group Study conductor. I have even reminded an elder in an e mail that I was willing for a chat.. He said "Fine" , but never ever came back to me.

In my day, to d/a someone was a last resort. They had to say uniquivocably that they no longer wanted anything to do with the Witnesses , and preferably put it in writing ..Perhaps times have changed but I cannot see what advantage there is for them . They know that the chances of us coming back is minimal, once they do that. At least now there is hope on their part that we may see "The Light" and re activate ourselve. Dont they want members?

I think these things may vary in application from one place to another . Especially if you get a P.O. that is a meanspirited so and so who doesnt like you

But after 5 years someone who is "inactive" should have their publisher record card removed from the file.

I don't think this is correct. Is there anything in writing on this?

A CO told me that record cards are never removed from the file unless the publisher dies or is d/f or d/a.

Incidentally, it used to be called a Publisher Record Card but that was changed and it's now officially called a Congregation's Publisher Record Card, to emphasise that it belongs to the congregation and not to the publisher.

From memory, this change aso coincided with the new procedure that, when they move congregations, a publisher is no longer allowed to be given their cards to hand to the new congregation--they can only be posted direct to the new congregation.

In other words, if a publisher wanted to 'fade,' they could no longer just take their cards and go.

How dare you try to escape without allowing us to DESTROY your character and self esteem!

We must have forgotten to mention that during our initial bible study. Don't worry, you'll be back, once you see how bad satan's world is to people who have been isolated and uneducated in our spiritual prison paradise.

And don't think that sites like this will help you. All they will do is encourage you to think for yourself, which is wrong since you are not an anointed member of the gb.

And just think, this is only a foregleam of the wonderful new system!

Anyway, what can you do? god sanctioned 'Caesar's Law' doesn't interfere with religious stuff like this.

Please don't leave the WTS, we love you my brother!

my bad, IT, hubby said it was a BOE letter in the 80's that said to destroy any records, except judicial meetings after 7 years. I guess that 7 is a more complete number. or signifies human perfection, oh wtf, whatever. But hubby did say some elders did what they wanted to.

They are Hunter Killers if they think you are not miserable and unhappy being away.

On the website "Disfellowshipped.com" One British brother ANTHONY ROBERTS had not been to a meeting in 5 years, yet they wanted him to become a JW again so they could say he wasn't a JW.

As a result of a cease and desist threat, his site was downed by his ISP, but was called Witnessaid UK. Or WAUK. It is so sad he never provided a link as he really knew his stuff. Lies. Cons.
