If anyone can sympathize with teeth problems it's me. I've had problems with my teeth all my life despite the fact that I brush my teeth 3 times a day and floss all the freaking time----I just happened to inherit lousy teeth prone to cavities.

Just to make you feel better, I'll tell you what happened to me when I had my wisdom teeth out. I was sitting at work and it started to feel like someone had a sledge hammer and was smashing the back of my head. I (literally) went crying into my boss, the pain was so bad so she came running out and got one of my co workers to take me to the dentist. Seems that my impacted wisdom tooth was also pressing up against a tooth that had a cavity in it, so you can just imagine what that was like. So the dentist makes an appt. for me to get in the next day to the Specialist to have my wisdom teeth pulled. In the mean time, he gave me a prescription for Tylenol 3's for the pain. I went through the entire bottle that night and it did absolutely NOTHING for the pain. (Found out later I coulda died from taking all that).

Anyhoo, I go see the Specialist the next morning with my head ready to blow off and he asks me if I've eaten anything for the past 24 hours. I said yes I'd had a bit of orange juice that morning (no one told me I couldn't). He said that I'd have to come back the next day because they gas you, and you can't have anything on your stomach. There was no way I could handle the pain for another 24 hours so I said " Stick a needle in here and freeze me and pull these god damn things out!!" So he did. The roots on the one were twisted but other than that I had no problem. In fact, I had no swelling or anything---my gums bled a bit for about 15 mintues but that was it. In fact, I went to the Bookstudy that very night!!

It's far better that you have them out. If they're rotten, they can cause all kinds of bad problems down the road. Just make sure the dentist gives you lots of drugs and you'll be fine.....just try not to nash your teeth.

    Best of luck!

Not to scare you - regarding Vicodin. My [former] friend and elder had surgery and took just one Vicodin afterward. He was allegic and not aware. He went jaundiced and the Doc said that he could have lost his liver to the allegy. Don't know if this is widespead allergy or not - but if you know of any allegy to similar drugs be careful.

Not trying to scare - just warn. I know you have enough on your mind. After that I just always took a good over the counter for pain. It scared me, since my brother had died from liver failure.

As for the vicodin, ask for the real stuff and not generic! Will you be asleep for the procedure?

    Leeha,

Aussie girls are the tougherest and braverest in the whole wide world. Remember that. I don't know if i read it, but how many out? I got mine taken out in pairs, one side of the mouth at a time. They are fine now.

    Enjoy your rest

Thank's again for all your sympathy and support.Phill, Yep us aussie girls are tough. I had all four out, Figured if I was going to be in pain I may as well get it done and out of the way.

Been sleeping a lot, took some pain killers earlier which helped.

Have not taken any for 11 hours and am feeling ok. Still a little battered and swollen, but no near as bad as I though it was going to be.

Going to potter around a bit then head back to bed.

    Thanks again.

    xoxo.
