This is an old joke, my version:

Two guys flying on an airplane. The first guy from USC gets up goes to the toilet and returns. He comes back and the other guy, a UCLA grad, uses the men's room. When he comes back he says to the USC grad.

"Excuse me, but I noticed that you hadn't run the water in the basin."

"yeah," says the USC grad.

"Well at UCLA they teach us to wash our hands after we visit the toilet."

"Really," says the USC Grad. "Well, at USC they teach us not to pee on our hands."

I wash with soap and water every time. I've observed that at my place of work, several guys don't wash at all. As a result, I'm now in the habit of drying my hands and then holding onto the paper towel and using it to cover my hand while I pull the door handle when leaving the restroom.

Just last week one guy was in the stall and then walked out without washing. Disgusting.

Absolutely! I even used my wet paper towels to open the door handle to get out of the bathroom. I have seen/heard too many women passing the sink up. The germs on the door handles to the stalls are enough to make me wash diligently!

absolutely. I cant even begin to tell you how many people I've seen get sick at my job with stomach viruses, pinkeye, etc. why? too many people who dont wash their hands!

also the door handles, the phones, the computer keyboard and mouse are all contaminated items. some clorox wipes should be dispensed along with the office pens, staplers and other supplies for the office

Are you kidding me? I shower every morning, and then I tuck Mr. Winky into a nice clean pair of underwear. He's all fresh & clean! But my hands? Jeez .. I've been petting the cat and shaking hands with total strangers ... I wash my hands BEFORE I pee.

Well, I always wash my hands. Sometimes too much, if I'm cooking:D If the sink is filthy I don't and I will use a sanitizer such as Purell.

I do. Everytime.

Regardless of the 'urine is pure', 'I'm cleaner than soap ever will be' arguments, it is well-documented that germs exist all around us. Clean hands help prevent spread of germs. That would just make it good practice to wash hands with warm soap and water EVERY time one is in the restroom - just because it's convenient.
