lol I am Canadian and I don' think I have ever heard of this.
I don't even like Canadian whiskey because it is blended (although I think we now have a single malt producer on the east coast) If you want the real thing you have to do it right and go Scottish.
I would recommend any single malt Scotch over any Canadian whiskey (although I do like to get warmed up on a cold winter's day with J.D.every so often )

Thanks for the warning codeblue - I've tried a few imported whiskeys, and have to say that I always end up going back to the Single malt scotch whisky - yum! I do enjoy the occasional JD on ice though...
Glenfiddich is good - IMO Glenmorangie is better, Ardbeg is another nice one, and fairly cheap for a single. Steer clear of Talisker - it's a single malt but it tastes like catwazz !
If you can find it - try some Poit Dhubh - unchilfiltered single malt. Heaven in a glass!

If you like Glenfiddich you'll love Glenmorangie (which is my favourite).Bull and I are old drinking buddies. We would go to the liquor store and by Scotch Whisky and drink it while playing video games
We got some great scores on two-player drunken "Wizball" - LOL.Whisky drinking is still a pastime we engage in, whenever we get together
