What Do You Do When You Get The "Blues"???

    Every once in a while we all get the blues. We start overthinking, overanalyzing----we dwell on negatives. What do you do to get out of this frame of mind?

    .....I will say, I've gotten more encouragment on this board than most of you will ever know! I've gotten calls as well as pms here that have made me feel quite appreciated. Sometimes, we forget that we're not just posters. We're people!

    I'm starting to look into the cause of the blue feeling,,my mind sometimes gets a glimps of what happened the first moment, before,, I felt blue and I see myself getting more curious about what starts certain feelings,,some times that curiousity frees me from the grip the blues has,, as the pain becomes more interesting(not hurting yet hurting),, and is now being use as a probe to focus attention on something wrong that causes the mind to feel pain because the mind uses pain to control the individuals. And why should the mind make pain hurt is mind trying to hid something and uses pain as just a limit sign go no further or it will get worse type of threat.

    Even though I will soon be 42, I still call my Mom when I get the blues. She is such a wise and caring person and no matter how trivial my problems may be she still listens to them and comforts me.

    I love my Mom and I hope I go before she does because I don't think I could handle losing her.

    I pick my sorry ass up and get busy. If I can get busy doing something which is productive or leads to a positive outcome than that usually puts me right again.

    *edit* and sometimes I listen to a little blues music and pout a bit before I get busy.

    I usually just slap myself in the kisser and say; "snap out of it, Mac" Making a quick mental list of all the wonderful things in my life tends to bring me back to center. I'm seldom blue but, when I am I rarely share it with anyone.
