Gumby, Andy and I have had this same discussion a few times in the past couple of months. It all started when we heard the worst of all "lust after 16 year old girls" songs:
Here are the lyrics:
Into The Night
by: Benny Mardones
She's just sixteen years old
Leave her alone, they say <......he should listen to them, the sleazy creep. Separated by fools
Who don't know what love is yet
But I want you to know -
If I could fly
I'd pick you up
I'd take you into the night
And show you a love
Like you've never seen - ever seen. <........Yeah well, I don't think 16 year old girls are supposed to have seen that kind of love and especially not in the arms of some much older guy. They should be applying for colleges and wondering if they will go to the prom, etc.
It's like having a dream
Where nobody has a heart <.......in reality this guy is the one without a heart, thinking of taking some girl's teen years away from her so she can spend them being a pervert's little love toy.
It's like having it all
And watching it fall apart
And I would wait till the end of time for you
And do it again, it's true
I can't measure my love <.......maybe that's why he is looking for a sixteen year old; real women couldn't meaure it either. A sixteen year old would be too ignorant to know the difference. There's nothing to compare it to <....either that or none of the girls in his highschool would have him. Women his age won't have him either. He's still trying to get up the nerve to ask out a teenager. But I want you to know -
We figured that today the song might not hit. But they still play it in Arby's!
As a person who was hit on and worse by older guys when I was a teen; I can tell you that these songs make my skin crawl and they make me want to have someone take these guys out back and slap 'em around some: know what I mean?
