Canada is the single biggest threat to American Security...EVER...haven't you seen the show QUICKSILVER?

I thought it was Sadam Hussein with his Weapons of Mass Destruction, which later became Programs of Weapons of Mass Destruction.

    Humnnn...

    this just in:

NEWSBLEAK: It is now reported that the Bush administration is suspending the November elections until Simon Green writes on the chalkboard 100 times: "I will not be mean to President Bush". Sources close to the President say that Bush had originally planned on holding his breath until he turned blue for Simon to come around but he fainted several times so he is opting for this measure instead

Please, please. There is nothing threatening the November election, except the shenanigans of the Bush admin. BuschCo wants us to think there's a constant threat; and while it's a good thing to be a little wary, this administration hits that panic button whenever lil' Georgie slips in the polls. Also: be on the lookout for the 2004 version of "October Surprise".

You Reagan worshippers might remember that.

When I looked at this thread, and saw Michael 3300 had posted, I thought to myself, "Self, I bet he's going to post some nonsense about how the Bush's are going to try and manipulatte the election."

Sure enough, I was right. Look Michael, if you really want to talk about rigged elections, let's talk about St. John the Kennedy in 1960. During this election it has been rumored that dead men voted in Chicago. Not to mention the election shinnegans (sp?) done in the VPs home state of Texas.

Then again, why should I point this out to you? I'm sure you know history.

Back in the 1980's, didn't Reagan consider declaring martial law when the U.S. was considering an invasion of one of the El Salvador? I thought I remember reading something about it.

The Dead are a VERY important constituency in Chicago...

As for this, I HOPE it's just rumor...but when you start having the Secretary of Homeland Security talk about the possibility, My ears do perk up. I also hope Bush realizes how fishy it would look to have a terrorist attack so close to an election he could lose and it JUST HAPPENS to give him an out.

Would These people take away democracy for access to unlimited money and power?...The left accuses them of it...let's hope they're bigger than that.

Well, as I posted before, back in 2000 with the Y2K scare and tthe nutjob right's fear of Bill-ary, they concocted the same type of fear mongering.

Personally, I think this fear-mongering is now coming from the left. It is a result of the very legitimate prospect of Bush winning a second term.

Don't you mean invaded by Nicaragua? ES was the country with the Red insurgency that we talked about helping the dictatorship in San Salvador with...

Besides, Reagan was on something then...I really doubt Mexico would just watch the Sandinista Expeditionary Force (all, what, 20,000 of them?) march through and attack Texas (pop 16 mill in the 80's, most of them with guns.)

When president Ronald Reagan was considering invading Nicaragua he issued a series of executive orders that provided the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) with broad powers in the event of a "crisis" such as "violent and widespread internal dissent or national opposition against a US military invasion abroad". They were never used.
