I don't know?? I mean even if the bible is a book of myths, it still tells us alot about mythology and that is good because we can see how a certain segment of the population views changed over time.

So I say the bible ranks right up there with the best literature. Even though it is not the "Truth" but merely man's concepts of truth.

Ok, for some of us most books are better than the bible,

Too right. Why, here are some pulled almost at random from my bedside:

Anvil of the World, Kage Baker (Sirius, think of Pratchett only more gracefully literary).
Hoodoo Herb and Root Magic, Catherine Yronwode
    Complete Works, Arthur Rimbaud
Swords in the Mist (and its five or six sequels), Fritz Lieber

Huxley, for my money, Alan Mendelsohn, the Boy from Mars is Pinkwater's best work.

There, that'll do for now, I think.

Better in what sense? More accurately describing historical events? Thats very easy. More interesting to read? Different people are interested in different things, and like reading different styles, but still, it shouldn't be difficult to find books less of a chore to read. Since "The Bible" is a collection written by many authors at many different times, it seems fair to mention a list of books which fits the same criteria.........
